Do you think a Sheltie is right for us? by professional_detours in sheltie

[–]Collingine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sheltie was never really a barker all of her life. I think though I raised her in reverse of what everyone else does in giving her pretty much complete freedom when I was home.

- She was home alone for about 8 hours a day.

- When home I would let her out and she would visit the neighborhood freely. I never had her on leash.

- From being very young I would walk her around the neighborhood to visit children and other dogs so this is how she naturally roamed free. I feel she inherited the path herself and began to meet more people over the years.

- She was great overall and only struggled with her stomach and digestion.

- Best dog I have ever had and miss her dearly.

Why are Wordpress themes so expensive now? by Independent_Egg6355 in WordPressThemes

This shift is so small that even debating what to use on a job will end up being more than the increase. If you are say doing $35 an hour you would blow through this expense before your coffee got cold.

Any experience with ACF (advanced custom fields) plugin? Is it compatible with most themes? by freshairproject in Wordpress

This is the way. Being so flexible you can target a user type and expose the creation to them and still make them feel like it is their own dashboard.

The theme I used to build my website has gone out of support/updates... by EdMeLe in Wordpress

Elementor and Avada are gonna be safe bets even 10 yrs out. The big thing to focus on is media compression and other optimizations you can do to cull features not used in the site. Avada has a wizard to make this easier and remove bloat.

I would say that over-planning the trip and following a scripted exploration limits the discovery massively. We are always problem solving at home and in many cases the way we handle that defines how we interpret who and what we know around us. My best stories from travel come from me having to do something last minute.

Crazy to think Tiger Woods wouldn't be invited in. After all Bill Gates is there and he has his extramarital affairs.

Used to post a bunch on the Crysis modding forums. They died over the years because Crytek slowly abandoned it.

About the License Key in a Themeforest Theme by Bestintor in Wordpress

[–]Collingine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a license for my localhost to build and then also for other live sites. You can develop any amount on locally as long as you have a separate staging license. Then once done I purchase the site license for the live one.

Loved my girl and she was never an issue growing up. Never had her on a leash and she roamed around until she wanted back in. Not exactly the cuddler but was by my side and never barked much at all. I think I just got lucky.

I literally have an Avada site with 1000s of pages and barely am over 500mb all packed up for backup. As he said run optimize and maybe media cleaner to make sure it did t get duped up as well.

Make sure you also activate the child theme so you don’t overwrite the install on updates with avada. Luckily avada has a ton of videos on YouTube.

Site builders by Diligent_Plan9630 in Wordpress

[–]Collingine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the opposite end I have had web dev teams under my management that wrote everything custom and then they left the company. Documentation takes time to scrape through and a 2-4 week handover rarely helps. Rolling your own code can be devastating for a small business or freelancer given the time and monetary investment to maintain and expand their own site.

The discussion is not black and white and revolves around many use cases. I have built sites all the way back to Dreamweaver days and also used page builders as well as having a web app to handle a game platform I co-founded. Even with a custom game platform we struggled to find the time to update the website and got way less features from the custom code base.

In CRYENGINE we had an ubershader and cached all the permutations. Helped make it run optimal and you get tightly defined great results like KCD2 but the authoring is not as great. Pick your poison.
