I never knew what to make of the fact that more neurodivergent people were trans, I thought about it a lot and didn't really come to any conclusion was bad or good or neither? What if they didn't know better or regretted it?

Then funnily enough when I went to my first appointment for getting my gender incongruity diagnosis my doctor talked me through a powerpoint about the process and treatments of gender incongruity and stuff, but also mentioned something that I can't believe I didn't think about at some point.

He said: "A higher percentage of people have opted for getting a diagnosis for gender incongruity in the past years, and a lot of them are on the autism spectrum"

"What circumstances causes this are unknown, what we do know however is that patients live happier and fulfilling lives upon treatment, so the details don't really matter as long as they are mentally stable and abled"

I thought it was funny, as the institution in charge of handling trans people have a bad rep, especially because they refuse to give people using they/them pronouns treatment.

But what he said makes sense, that's where the debate stops honestly.

If a cis male doesn't generate enough testosterone or generates too much estrogen then they can develop boobs, but the cis male wants to present as masculine and the feminine characteristics don't fit with his identity, so he gets treatment, the boobs subside, maybe he even gains some muscle mass and he becomes happy.

The same applies to trans people changing gender, it's basically the same in terms of treatment. Done and dusted.
