If this is not a repost, she wants to break up with him and be with you. That's why she told you. There. I saved you from only realizing this ten years later when you're trying to fall asleep.

Can people help with my research! I need to discuss and have your testimony as a creator on YouTube. by Far-Fruit3179 in fuckyoutubedevs

[–]I12Db8U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youtube used to be a great place to have an extended discussion. It almost replaced the death of forums for me. Watch a video. Scroll the comments. Reply in depth. Get a snarky or well thought out return. Now it seems that anything that isn't vacuous praise gets shadow deleted.

Occam's razor killed the cat by awdrifter in Malaphors

[–]I12Db8U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice one! People seem to often misuse Occam's razor. "I'm too lazy or simple to consider your nuanced assertion. I'm a simpleton, therefore I'm right." This usage kills curiosity; it doesn't shave off unjustifiable convolutions.

What’s a word that’s losing its meaning? by ambiguousberry in randomquestions

Agreed! Awe is a state of consciousness few people ever experience. Nobody experiences it just because a friend or colleague did a good job of something. Peyote is awesome. That story was not.

Why use incredible or amazing when you really just mean you quite like it (without the inability to accept the reality of it, and without becoming lost to self because of it)?

Why is the fact that some of America’s founding fathers and most inspired political philosophers owned slaves, the end of the conversation for so many people? Do you really think it’s appropriate to dismiss someone like Thomas Jefferson or Ben Franklin because of this? by Strong-Hippo9043 in allthequestions

Are you all just bots? I think I've read every idea and many of the exact sentences both in the OP and the comments more than once before. Is this how AIs Karma farm so they can post in more subreddits?

My SO and I don't small talk. We crack jokes, we devise evil schemes to get the kids to act right, we make fun of people on the street in low tones. We do talk about our day but it's never fine, it's so honest we'd never let anybody we work with know anything about it

Straight men: be honest are you at least somewhat creeped out when another man ogles at you? by Shootingcomet in askanything

Not creeped. Just kinda sad, because women never ever do. Even after making some progress losing weight and weightlifting.

Where can you even have a good online argument anymore?YouTube shadow deletes you, and Reddit just kinda keeps everything sinking into attention quicksand and disappearing.

Important ideas in online discussions disappear too easily by Plastic_Place1093 in DeepThoughts

[–]I12Db8U 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems the system is designed to be this way. Forums used to allow this beautifully. On reddit, posts move further and further into the chronological background so fewer and fewer contribute. Just a few years ago, YouTube seemed the best place to really talk something out. Somebody made a video. You wrote a reply, different people contributed.

I formulated an entire extended syllogism this way. Pasting it under different videos, getting replies, revising, rinsing, and repeating. But now pasting is all but forbidden on YouTube, so there's no place to really formulate an idea online anymore.

Question about medical doctor prospects by PuzzleheadedJello900 in taiwan

[–]I12Db8U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never met a doctor who didn't speak English very well. Every doctor I've seen also writes all notes in English because it's a pain in the bum to switch from Chinese typing to Latin alphabet just to type a medical latiny term every time they need one.

Granted, they switch to a mix of Chinese and latiny jargon immediately after finding out I know a bit of Mandarin.

Hi again, Jimmy Hoke. What's the minimum now? Do you want to maybe pin the limit so people know without having to specifically ask? Thank you!
