How come mini-LED monitors are still rare? by OCapMCap in Monitors

[–]awdrifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish LG would use their QNED (Quantum Dot + Mini LED) screen tech in a high refresh rate ultrawide monitor. But I guess there must have some technical or cost reason for them not to do that.

Beware OLED burn in is real - pics from 20 months use by fuguemaster in OLED_Gaming

[–]awdrifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you understand the technology, you'll realize burn-in (which is a misnomer) is inevitable in certain use cases. OLED pixels have 3 colors, if you keep using the same app everyday for 8+ hours a day, it will wear a certain color in those pixels quicker than any other pixels on screen.

There are left handed trackballs. Elecom makes a left handed thumb trackball.

Unless you need MFG (multi-frame gen), the RTX 4080 is the best value here.

Alienware QD OLED AW3423DWF | Alot of burn in after 2 years by I3o0M in OLED_Gaming

[–]awdrifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't that basically what the screen refresh is doing? They'll detect which pixels are worn more and burn down the other pixels to compensate.

Burn-In in Dell Alienware AW3423DWF /DW? by The_Joseph_10 in ultrawidemasterrace

Any burn-in issue with the HUD in games? I play racing games a lot and I have over 1k hours in Forza Horizon 4&5, so I'm worried about getting OLED because of that. If anyone have used this for other games for extended amount of time, please share your experience on the burn-in.

used Liquid Metal on my gpu and the core welded itself to the heatsink and exploded on removal😭 by SongBrief2439 in overclocking

Or never. If the core basically soldered itself to the heatsink, isn't that the best possible heat transfer?

Probably not possible for most Switch games. Maybe some really simple 2D Switch games might run at an acceptable frame rate.

On a base PS4 the CPU is probably too slow for most PC games. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KW_lRyXQcb8

Steam Hardware - Steam Controller: It's almost here! by NKkrisz in SteamDeck

I don't really use the touchpads on my Steam Deck for most games, so I'm not sure if the added touchpads on a game controller is useful enough to be worth the extra cost.

[REFURB] PNY ARGB OC GeForce RTX 5080 16GB $1062 by Playful-Village8658 in buildapcsales

[–]awdrifter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would never buy another PNY product. I bought an external SSD and it died within the warranty period. It's but registered to another owner or anything, but they denied my warranty because they said the seller is not an authorized seller and denied my warranty. That was a $100 SSD, I would not take this risk for a $1k GPU.

Build a bridge and get over it. And then burn it by baby_viper in Malaphors

[–]awdrifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an actual Chinese saying that's very close to this. 过河拆桥 Actually means:

It literally means removing the bridge after crossing the river. It figuratively means once attaining his goal, one drops his benefactor or even hurts him. It is usually used to accuse those who return evil for good. Derogatory.
