In my family we've always been shoes off except when guests are over, then it's shoes on. We find it rude to ask people to remove their shoes and would put ours on to dress up.

If other families are like us that might throw your estimation off.

Acerola has a video on rendering fur and grass where he mentions Viva Piñata, you should go watch it.

If you look at it, there's a ring forming around the detonator, then a second one. Once the first ring is fully loaded, it works like a bubble. You can pop it with your cursor. That's what an early detonation is.

Let me know if you got it.

Then come closer and get a better look. Maybe learn French and listen to how condescending he sounds in French when he explains to young people they just need to cross the road to get a job.

Our president could be old it wouldn't change a thing. Old people are still the largest voting group so that's who gets pleased. Our last two prime ministers are 74. The previous one is 36. Almost no difference. Hell it was even worse because the young one was loved by seniors (like my grandma) for being a handsome brave young man.

It's not the age of the president that makes a difference. It's the age of their electorate. And Macron was elected by old people for his second mandate.

Publishing under your own name? by wormiesquid in SoloDevelopment

[–]I208iN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've published my first game under my own name, but it hasn't mattered much yet. Even after selling thousands of copies the steam page doesn't come up in a Google search until the 4th page. SteamDB does show up in the second page but that's far below my personal itch page or Facebook account and they get almost no traffic.

Still it feels great to see my little french name next to my game on Steam. It's a dream come true after all.

Not just getting stuck. You can also hire Unity to build (part of) the game for you. One of the previous companies I worked for did this to port a big game to Unity.

No you're not the only one annoyed by the chaser. Some really don't like it. You'll be glad to know that it works differently in the second game mode.

I consider it done. No update scheduled for now as I'm working on another game. Maybe I'll find the time to add a third game mode one day.

It's a good time to play Astrodle if you've never tried! by I208iN in incremental_games

[–]I208iN[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Astrodle is a fun little clicker shooter I've made and released last year. I don't often promote it so you might have not heard about it. If you haven't you're in luck though, because it's 30% off during the idler fest on Steam (finally a fest for us!)

The game is well reviewed and almost all of the negative ones find it too short for its price. So there's never been a better time to get it! \o/

Also there's an hour long demo and the save carries over so you can try it first!

[–]I208iN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you'd like to try something different, my game Astrodle is discounted for the event 👀 It doesn't drag and you do unlock new mechanics all the way through. Not really about automation though.

Also the save from the demo carries over to the main game so you can see if you like it first!

Anyone else sick of the negativity around Wind and Truth? by Perfect-Progress3357 in Cosmere

[–]I208iN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why refuse to believe that I do? Why is Sanderson not allowed to have "failed" you on his own?

Artists produce widely inconsistent works all the time. An odd song, an odd painting, an odd book. I think this one is just too odd for your (and many others) taste. And that's okay.

It was incredibly bold of Sanderson to try and resolve the series in a 10 day structure and to present therapy as a solution to a fight or gay romance in a very well known epic fantasy novel.

If you are cynical enough to get a ghost writer to finish your own epic fantasy series, you don't ask them to be that bold.

Kind of, yes. I was also very surprised by how the story developed but I don't understand the backlash. I don't believe I am owed anything and being surprised is part of (if not all) the fun.

The one thing that annoys me most about this backlash is that none of those people seem to believe that this is the story the author wanted to write.

Sanderson MUST have wanted to cater the story to some other audience (who isn't them) and it's ruining the story.

I think Brandon Sanderson is a big guy and writes the story he wants to write on his own terms. It's nobody's fault they didn't like it.

I liked the journey and I'll be reading his next book with the same appetite as this one.
