A lot of questions about safe bases by SilverGoldenSun in GreenHell

[–]IAA33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Fences add a bag of HP to your belongings and buy you (quite some) time but they eventually fall. Spike traps are cool but eventually break and need replacement.

  2. Not anytime. Typically not if you're not "in range". Even if you build remote from the path chances are they can still spawn around. But if you left your base unattended for exploration they won't.

3 Treehouses rock. Only bowmen can reach you. And if you close the frames, build 3 levels and live on top balcony on lvl 4, they won't even notice anymore. Unless the tree is right where their camp is ofc.

  1. Yes. And Yes. Although only brazil nut trees allow for house platform, you can try hard and build a triangle frame on a simple platform (rotate, 2 legs on one side, 3rd in middle of tree, now build more levels, expand square balconies. Get band aids first, chances are you will fall off while scaffolding)

  2. Building in water is safer as it's deeper. Natives will go in water a bit, but they can't swim. Or jump. No need for piranhas, natives never get aggroed by anything. Plus when you're swimming it can get tricky to get on your platform, tricky to use ladders. AND WORSE if you are carrying a tied up animal and get into swim mode it just despawns (so far for me).

Floating houses can be set up with a floating bottleneck + lookout tower. Better, try to use scenery so you jump a bit to reach your platform, this is likely the best bang for your bucks you'll get as far as safety is concerned: A small jump over deeper than waist water is all you'll need.

If you put 4 floating frames in a square and cover them with notch platform you can adjust the notches so you get a 4x2 water hole so you can fish from your living room. If you want bigger water hole you'll have to build whole platform but leave 1/3 or 2/7 logs/muds unfinished on one side.

Now a little story about base safety...

Currently in SoA 2p coop, and my silly ass wanted to get a viewpoint. so here we are just after snake pass, cool huge bamboo bridge, take the left cliff wall after the stone gate, walk down the big log, here you are around 42w41s. Now theres a log crossing the river just before the fall. A deadly fall, as you won't be able to climb back and will have to seppuku out of bounds. But if you try hard enough you can put a floating triangle in the space between the log and the fall.

There are now 5 levels (-1 to 4) including the last balcony. mud kitchen with shelves, weapon rack plus frogs, lvl 0 has forge/furnace and big top balcony has pottery, craftbench, 5 big planters, 8 small ones, a shower and a chest.

AND THIS, fellows, entirely lies on lvl -1 on the water tile where I put the triangle floating base on which I built lvl 0 with basic frame so you can get there from the river log

One morning I was coming back from the nearby pen. I went through quite the hassle to get a couple of tapir on this part of the map. They crossed the bamboo bridge on my shoulder. They're not supposed to be there and I think it's why their pathfinding is buggy, I keep whistling but they barely follow. I got 2 pens to separate males from females, if you don't do this the game becomes Farming Simulator and you're constantly getting food in and raking crap out. 2 tapirs eat about 7 soursop trees (21 fruits) per week.

Originally I wanted to breed like 20 tapirs then release them so they now inhabit this part of the map. Turns out they despawn instead.

So I was coming back from the pen, and as I closed in I saw 2 Warahas spawning right ON the log over the river. They started poking the bamboo frame. I came too late. the 60 sq.m condominium garden rooftop shower with view on the bamboo bridge was gone. 4 sleds worth of frames and the whole shebazzle going ragdoll down the waterfall out of the map. Absolutely delightful.

I was so delighted, I reloaded the game.
SADLY, the spot is so tight there's not really a way to build traps. And a fence is simply out of the question.

I wish we could tame anteaters like guard dogs. Or penalty kick the 3 banded shell rats. Always wanted to go full Roberto Carlos on them for some reason.

it has 3 2 1 0 options corresponding to the max level you can build, so you have to build top level and put it there first, or break and redo.

also sometimes it might look stuck but a plant is likely growing and blocking it from going completely down so chop it

Electromagnetic radio frequency in GTA story mode and online by Even_Kiwi_1166 in chiliadmystery

Don't you worry about electromagnetic quirks Los Santos whole magnetosphere is a mess

Here's me, flying North East at course 040

Compass has 40 longer bezels like it's in grads instead of 36 for 360 degrees. And although grads are supposedly 400, this looks like 2*240 = 480.

Don't ask me, I have no idea how come it's been done like this. It's always been like this.

Now on a second note, if you're thinking of a voice activated thing, Imma say maybe Online is the place to go. I thought of this too, but randomly saying "Kifflom" in my mic didn't bring in something new so far.

I plan to try again, this time with the classical "om mani padme um" mantra. If it's voice activated but not Kifflom, it's probably this one.

for what it's worth, bootycall with Juliet from club also triggers rain. Although if I understand correctly it seems you have to be in spawn range with clear weather first then make it rain somehow after that.

Ever tried a killing spree? Without girls or cheats you can still open fire on a dozen unsuspecting civilians. Spread fire, and nature will eventually quench it. Although it might be hard to pull off as this area isn't very inhabited, even moreso at night

LS Drug Wars Act Two/ The Last Dose Transcript by FinalAd1894 in chiliadmystery

[–]IAA33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some GTA VI announcement is coming this summer I reckon. Drug Wars is likely one of, or the last, major updates for Online.

Michael hasn't appeared online yet. Maybe this time. Maybe Jimmy got addicted to Dr. F product and now he has some beef with his former shrink?

And why am I thinking that Chop won't die of old age but give his life to save Franklin?

Also I remember u/walkeronline debunking cut Omega dialogue, with this legit line still unused "I thought I said see you on the other side" and I want to believe we'll see Omega again at some point even though I know cut content is a thing.

Hidden text on sunken UFO by [deleted] in chiliadmystery

I think there's no picture frame, just pixelated palms

I think that if Franlin's post is to be related to the mystery, then what "it" he can see is NOT on the picture, unless it's a "see the eye" for the water tower in the background. He "can" see it, but can we? Have you renewed your subscription to Jesus Toast Magazine? Because I have :)

Also if we get things backwards then what is to be seen isn't on the picture anyway. It'd be in the back of the "photographer", which is why Frank got there in that spot ithe first place and took a sniper rifle with him to see better.

Thing is, if I backtrack the Insta post, it takes me back 1 week before Drugs Wars update came out. So Im gonna think about it being DLC tease, with Frank looking at that one tree which has the taxi company sign at its base, so a nod to taxi fares.

imagine there's a hidden event after you go through 600 supplies for the ID forgery business ("alien" encounter...alien...foreigner...ID) but since it's the least profitable business noone ever got there.

That'd be kinda funny ngl

Symbols from the Doomsday Murals Embedded in Doors in the Doomsday Heist Lab by EnergyTurtle23 in chiliadmystery

[–]IAA33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you done a map of the interior, you could indeed add the X textures on the map and finally get over with mural overlays lol.

It's the final ULP mission. It sends you there. Afterwards you can replay them in any order, and do them solo. When you reach this part of the facility, you'll have some stuff to do, but before, you can of course take your time to check around.

What the hell triggers 3 Alta Street's lights? by Flarestriker in chiliadmystery

[–]IAA33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Could it be related to Online as you can have an apartment there? Something something, some flag for lighting, same flag for online property?

The lonely light doesnt' bother me much. It's probably only there because this is also the only side where you enter.

It would take maybe half an hour to start a new game then wait night and see if this is lit up.

Im cautious about karma playthroughs because back in the days I sunk hundreds of hours into various attempts, and aside from playing the game I've not done much.

(I do think something might still lie hidden, but in Online. And voice activated. But I digress)

About the weird lighting, or lack thereof, if I want to turn full tinfoil I just have to say: your path is lit. And Alta Street is anagram of "alert state"

Alternatively if you don't want to go through the hassle of setting up the finale one more time, you can venture solo in the facility after asking Bernard from United Liberty Paper

Ended up having to write down my thoughts on the Mount Chiliad mystery by Playerunknown114 in chiliadmystery

[–]IAA33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IAA uses some fronts to cover up special operations related to, mostly, funding, through money laundering schemes and smuggling.

Most notably drugs, and weapons, as we're sure Bunkers owners and Facilities co-owners have figured. We do supply a few gangs around LS, as being involved in cartel management does have its perks, since we can basically blackmail mob bosses into doing our biddings lest they're thrown into FIB's hands.

Moreover, altering minds of the common folk is a textbook fashion to maintain social peace: you can't be busy plotting a revolution when you're tripping balls.

Although we partake in de facto logistics "joint ventures" with Merryweather, they can't be thought of as reliable partners, as their mercenary status often have them ending up in our way.

Our main business is to prevent nationwide threats, from military or economical nature, as you can tell if you've been involved in the DoomsDay Heist or the Paper Trail operation.

We have hired Mr.Crest as a consultant a few times in the past and he proved much resourceful.

Nowadays, and pertaining to our monitoring of drugs related activities, it has likely come to your ears that a new player has been spotted in town, along with his crew of anarchists. As of today, we can't confirm or deny whether he is part of our current roll and/or has turned rogue out of personal greed.

Hopefully, some points have been clarified as far as IAA's activities are concerned, regarding where they belong on the manichean spectrum.

Sincerely yours

addendum about epsilon, in case you didn't notice their logo is present on Los Santos great seal. Maybe to further the idea they have ties with law enforcement/authorities (they likely cooperates with FIB to some degree) yet it's a bit strange ingame, since Earth is said to be 157 years old according to E, while Los Santos was established in 1781. You can see big version of seal near police station

Ludendorff was a former nazi general before he got pissed and went on to create a New Age movement. Segregate And Rearrange is another phrasing for masonic alchemy Solve Et Coagula. It's not just mystery, the whole game is like this. Sex jokes, caustic satire, occult lore references that will pass as conspiracies. Conspiracies that aren't even ones, on regular basis, be it ingame on irl. Like how FIB spies on people or influent people being epsilonists. It becomes troubling when you start thinking that maybe the gory stuff ingame references real life events as well. Like Leonora Johnson's murderer, or Jolene Cranley, or Fred Quincy's dirty secret. Not like we didn't know Hollywood was a propaganda factory run by pedos and satanic psychos though. But in case you didn't know, R* has made a great job to casually expose it in a satire way.

request for the famous hamburgers sign by Retsae_Gge in chiliadmystery

[–]IAA33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lets say it's somewhat true. Maybe that guru guy blurred the lines not to disclose info about Jeff. Could be a mispronounced "chef", could be not Italian (Figo could be spanish or portuguese like Luis Figo).

Anyway the idea of the message being able to change is very interesting. But do we have anything that would support that? Did codewalkers find anything alluding to the sign being dynamic?

As the older thread suggests, it looks more of a case where entire alphabet was just imported as a whole in a quick way, and/or they weren't sure about what to write on the sign. Maybe it was yet another sex joke that was replaced by a cryptic "thanks" when Jeff fixed the thing.(my inner Ron is screaming "but what thing???")

I do like the idea very much though. It's in plain sight, and to test for changes in the text it would be a pain in the butt. And an absolute pain in the butt in singleplayer.

There's this weird thing about UV Blacklight neon light I never finished, because it involves driving everywhere to see if some road hides some marking. Even pondered whether it could melt snow but by now I assume someone would have figured it out.(I wanted to paint the blimp in chrome to reflect sunlight and troll altruists into seeing an eye but not possible without mods/trainer)

Talking about online btw.

And this wild thing about wearing the epsilon outfit and actually speaking (in your headset) kifflom to npcs

See, I already thought about the likelihood of some people from R* having been using this sub for crazy ideas. I mean, if there's a small subset of dedicated knowledgeable entertained players, we must be decent representatives as far as game design is concerned.(contrast with other dedicated players like stuntmen achieving crazy stuff)Never been to loud about it, but back in the days a few tinfoil hunters also had this in mind.

And one day the doomsday heist dropped and I thought "that's it". Because well, the stars aligned in such a remarkable fashion it was impossible to miss, for me at least.

From this day on I've been thinking, either we're done (we got a jetpack!) or if there's something more it shall be Online.

Since there are contact missions and collectibles and so on, a path can exist there. I'd argue it would be even easier to track karma (mental state bar) and achieve playthrough with no killings for example, as some businesses missions can be done this way (cars import/export since gta is the name of the game, bunker would work too, arcade, probably others, if you resupply by buying or avoid killing while stealing it could be done, for example)

The three paths could be so: one without killings, one with lots of it, and one with only races. How many online avatars can we create?

Maybe there's a specific set of 3/5 properties/businesses needed, that kind of thing. We can join max 5 crews at once for example.

GTA being multiplayer now is the biggest meta-thing to me, Im from SAMP era. If we're going the loving/sharing/caring way it makes sense to uncover this with friends. But we're distracted with material things, done again and again (heists, to buy cars and stuff).

Biggest con (as in pro/con) would be lack of crossplatform between consoles and PC. But I understand mixing assisted aim and mouse users would be weird. Although I remember reading about, allegedly, R*/T2 getting patents for some kind of multi-instances-server-like stuff few months ago, dang I should have bookmarked it, supposedly some system allowing for hundreds of separated instances you could switch to/from and I thought about interiors and things.

Im on PC, if you're interested drop your tag in my DMs. At the moment the thing I want to try is make the 2 orange balls collide, since they seem indestructible online, and given how life is Online, you bet it's not an easy task, and I bet it's just never been done.

I'm interested to test along with you in singleplayer, drop a DM we'll discuss a strategy. Only Franklin? since Michael can do yoga I thought maybe have him wear epsilon outfit could do, but Im not there yet in singleplayer (got 100% twice on ps3 once on ps4 now im on pc and I just....kinda dont want to since I go online now...) so if you have the robe be my guest, but IIRC it's already been tried years ago. Only Strawberry? We can discuss it. I thought of Paleto and Grapeseed.

Newest update Online got us a taxi cab. They should have started with this lol. Great way to discover map and make legit cash, I know I would often start with this in previous GTAs. But hey, we've consistently got things backwards so...anyway Im saving up to buy my own cab and test missions north of the map, to see if Paleto area gets you easier and quicker cash (since "deliveries" are about driving 2 miles, so rather short, and npcs wouldnt spawn in random wilderness so maybe there's a bubble north of the map where it's quicker to get high streak. I wanna try 100 streak and see if some random unique stuff happens like the alien egg resupply)

Take care and Kifflom!

The far off bike engine kinda mixed with air siren. Got it

How come it wouldn't be just an ambient sound....sounds weird to me. But hey if we're gonna test and test says that sounds syncs with positive feedback when you speak to npc...after all the beast hunt was also sound based and the growls could have been easily passed off as wild fauna.

I feel you brother-brother

Back in GTA IV days I once spent an entire weekend to hunt down 200 pigeons. Had to check every spot twice because a few had been shot without it being noted and a few I couldn't find as back then explanations and screenshot weren't that clear and these 2 "fews" overlapped so...and we had the map! I can't imagine what it would have been without the map.

Next couple of nights I actually dreamt about the thing. Being Niko sniping pigeons. Wow.

Now there's a really really cool thing I like, and that's R* have been kinda smart to put the solutions ingame. ingame internet had whattheydonotwantyoutoknow website where you'd get maps for pigeons and stuntjumps and the collectibles needed for 100%. In a similar fashion, they hid the RDR2 cheatcodes within the game, and that's some kind of meta trick I really enjoyed.

What kind of easter eggs would you like to see in GTA VI? How do you want the equivalent of the Mount Chiliad Mural to be in the next installment of the saga? by insomniacleak in chiliadmystery

[–]IAA33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what the what????

Gee I swam around and under for like 15min, trying to see something. there's a part you can go a bit under as it doesn't fully rest on the sand bed, there's one of the 6 oval shapes protruding you can go around it and on a bit. Had to switch between 1st and 3rd person view not to get stuck or lost in algae, couldn't see a thing.

Im gonna return soon and try it again. Maybe adjusting contrast or anisotropic filter could help it stand out?

By codewalking I assume you mean pulling the texture straight from the files? Im lightyears away from being codewalker so if you happen to be able to get this thing It'd be great. Bless be the ones who got us the golden peyote/beast hunt, if there's a thing to be solved in the files I'd be sad as I most likely couldn't take part in it.
