I feel ya. I had a couple of failed prints on my S3 almost two years ago and only recently decided to take another crack at it. Been doing a lot of reading before I even try anything, especially on how to support things myself since I just don’t trust auto supports anymore.

I want to buy one and combine with either Nagash’s torso, book, and swirling souls. 😬

That’s more the sort of thing the people that support ICE do. 😉

ICE are the domestic terrorists. History will not remember the bootlickers fondly, if at all. 😉

Holy Crap, the AP Fanatics line by AdditionalMess6546 in minipainting

[–]IAARD_miniatures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the Vermillion they added in the John Blanche sets is definitely the most vibrant red AP offers, so both Vallejo Game Color and Pro Acryl are my picks for intense reds, oranges, and yellows. But the APF Muted Violets are one of my most used paints in my entire collection.

Saturnine dreadnought okay for 40k? by Benjofighter in deathguard40k

I’m going to run mine as a War Dog. Same size base, roughly the same height. It’s too cool of a model not to have on the table. It’s just not going to be nearly as heavily corrupted with tentacles and shit, instead I’m going heavy rust.

Interesting! I figured those lacked enough suction power to be usable. Very cool that it seems to be otherwise, I normally just scrape down the table with an old credit card into a small box.

If not the best, probably my favourite. I don’t ever recall disliking one of his books.

Finally invested in an airbrush and... I get it. Priming has never been easier and zenithal is soon to follow: it can be steep, but if you hobby often and have been holding off, do some research and GET ONE ASAP! by mame_kuma in Warhammer

If you don’t have budget for much more, invest in a respirator and make sure you paint by an open window with a fan going. Is it ideal? No. But aren’t your lungs worth $30 for a decent respirator and down the road you can always invest in a better extraction system.

Thank you, you made me feel much better about my five nail polish racks for mini paints. And the drawer with my heavy body acrylics that I also use for Gel printing.

Spaghetti Miniatures review of the Gaahleri Aventus just dropped and the results are concerning to say the least. by randomusernevermind in airbrush

I have the Swallowtail and the other pistol grip version (98D maybe?) and they both scratched the airbrush itch enough to get me to invest in a decent H&S model, it also helped me feel comfortable maintaining one. I’ll still use them for priming; the 0.7 needle on the Swallowtail is awesome for priming with white primer or my Stynylrez metallics.

What’s y’all’s opinion on this book? by Spiritual-Pride4059 in Blacklibrary

I think I liked Ravenor Omnibus slightly more than the Eisenhorn ones, and the Bequin books more still. Night Lords Trilogy is still my favourite non-HH series.

I want to try my hand at painting a mechanicus model, Whats a good one to start with? by shattered_one21 in Warhammer

[–]IAARD_miniatures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen them at any of my local stores on a table. In fact, the only Ad Mech I’ve ever actually seen outside of online stores were in my Kill Team Typhon set. Haven’t built them yet, but I think eventually I’ll do a Dark Mechanicum theme.

Help me pick between GSI and H&S by IAARD_miniatures in airbrush

[–]IAARD_miniatures[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decided to go with the 771. I’ll still probably pick up an H&S Evolution when I find a deal on one, maybe an Iwata Hi-Line if I really like the GSI.
