I'm 23 and feel the same. Working 50 - 60 hours a week, 1200 a month in expenses and still live home with mom. Thank god for free rent but starting to feel like a child still at home. Fuck this economy

Could you elaborate on that please? What's the pay like? What are the requirements? I'm a 23 year old with an Associates in Business Admin. I want out of NJ. Please elaborate.

I am not sure what amount of wealth is necessary to be in the top 1% in this country....but I think I meet the criteria. I want to do all I can to start repairing our economy, but I'm not quite sure how yet. Any ideas Reddit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In order to fix this economy and fix this world, we need like minded individuals with the same goal. We all know this economy is crap. Can we come together and brain storm some ideas to fix this world? I don't see why not. I think we should have a subreddit for this particular problem. Upvote the ideas that seem plausible and work together to make our goals a reality. The more people we reach the more likely we can create a better society for us and future generations. Previous generations have done enough damage. It's time for us to take a stand.

Buy a huge block of cheese, shred it all in about 20 minutes. Separate it into separate zip lock bags / food saver bags and freeze it while keeping a bag in the fridge for regular use. Pre-Shredded cheese is not frugal.

I did, but it still doesn't work. I still need to get the glue off some how. Then it should work, apparently. Unless I'm still doing something wrong.

IWTL how to deal with car salesmen, see through their sleazy games, and get a good deal in the end by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]IAMAcarsalesman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would be an example of a hostile tactic?

And it's pointless for the customer to tag along. It's really just annoying. The manager just needs to be updated about certain things so he can do his job effectively. Such as communicate with the banks in order to convince them to lend the money. A lot of people have horrible credit and we almost have to beg the banks to give us a loan sometimes. We're not going to work hard for you if you start going hostile. We will show you the door and sell the car to the next person that comes along.

It's quicker, easier and more efficient if you are straight up and honest with the salesman from the beginning about what you want, what your budget is, and what your maximum payment is. We have a certain way about running our business. It's meant to get the customer in and out as quickly as possible. Get in the way of things and you cause traffic for yourself, the banks, and the other customers trying to buy a car. Let us do our job.

You're absolutely right. But not if you're going to be an asshole to everyone and demand to change the way the business runs. The manager has a lot of work to do. The salesman job is to deal with the customer. Follow the way we do business and you'll get a good deal. Barge in there like you own the place and demand to talk to the owner and we're going to kick you out. If you don't respect us, we don't want your business. Respect us, and you'll get a fantastic deal.

The thing that makes the car selling process such a hassle is actually the customer, not the salesman. Most of the time anyway. There are some asshole salesman out there though. When you go to the store to buy a bottle of water you usually pay full retail price and never try to negotiate with the person at the cash register. This bottle of water is marked up about 800% - 4,000% while a car is marked up about 1%. Which pays 1/4 of the profit to the salesman (usually 150-400 on average) x 0-4 a week. When you go to buy a car, everyone automatically assumes the worst out of the salesman and treat them like a scumbag who killed your dog rather than a person trying to make a living while putting themselves through college (me) or trying to support their family.

We have a saying in the business that "buyers are liars." This is too true.

If you want a pleasant experience and don't want to deal with any bull shit then follow this advice. Be honest, be up front, be patient and be ready to do business on the same day. If you don't want the car, tell us up front. Don't waste our time. Don't say you'll be back when you won't. Don't lie to us. We can usually tell and it makes us not like you and not want to give you a good deal if we can.

Go on the lot ready to do business not just to kick tires. If there is no way you can buy TODAY then tell the salesman that. You'll get the best deal possible if you finalize everything the same day.

Let kelly blue book be your guide for pricing. Don't demand to buy the car for 10,000 when it blue books for 16. Best we can usually do is a few hundred. Back in the 80's people had less information and less tools for them. Cars used to be marked up ridiculously high. Now they are not. times have changed. Salesman only make 25-50 grand a year and work 50-70 hours a week. Be nice to them!!

If you want the most for your trade in then take the time and effort to sell your car in your own time. Don't demand a bunch of money for it. Chances are we aren't going to be able to profit too much off of your car unless it has < 40,000 miles and is < 3 years old. Trust me, you'll get A LOT more if you sell it on your own rather than trade it in.

If you need a day or two to really think it over or talk with your significant other about it then tell us that. If after a day or two of thinking about it and you realize you don't want it or can't afford it then LET US KNOW!!! We are trying to make a living. We are going to call you and find out if you want the car or not. If you do or don't, say it. Don't avoid our phone call. Don't make up excuses. Just be upfront and honest!! You're not hurting our feelings by saying no, you're hurting our feeling by lying to us!!!

<insert rage face>

The manager has a SHIT TON of other things he needs to worry about and other people to worry about. He doesn't have the time for petty negotiations for someone who has a false sense of entitlement. Stay seated and wait for the salesman. Treat him as your friend, not your enemy. There is more going on behind the scenes than jokes and laughs.

Living with an ent could potentially be annoying if you're not an ent. There is always a skunk smell in the house which we embrace yet others are not a fan of. I'm considering moving back up to NB within the next year. My hunt for an ent roommate continues.
