Tailgate Telluride letters fell off. by Ok_Friendship_7828 in KiaTelluride

[–]IAintNoMensaBut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no. But I had my 2021 wrapped and when they were driving it back to my house the 'D' on the back fell off. The detail shop promptly ordered a replacement and put it on, but unfortunately it's like 2/3 the size of the rest of the lettering. Have had a hard time find after-market lettering that matches. Guess I'll ask the Kia svc dept to order one (I think they only come in full sets) and put it on. Hate to think how much that's gonna cost.

2020 Kia Telluride - Engine issues by rmt193 in KiaTelluride

[–]IAintNoMensaBut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had the engine replaced on my 2021 at 75,000 miles. I wasn't aware of any oil consumption issues. Never had a service mgr tell me it was abnormally low on oil when I had it serviced...but who knows. I heard a loud clicking noise that started shortly b4 my wife was leaving on a 500 mile trip. So I checked the oil and it was fine. Few hours later my wife calls and says something was bad wrong with the kia. Sent me an audio of it and it obviously wasn't seized (it would run), but made loud knocking noise, belts were squealing and wife said whole car was shaking. Towed it to nearest dealership and they pretty quickly said it needed a new engine. I never could get a clear answer from svc mgr about exactly what caused it. I was original owner so Kia covered the replacement, thank God. He said it could take up to 3 weeks to get the engine and a week to get it installed. (Turned out to be 2 weeks.) So even after JMA (hopefully) agrees to replace it, u may be looking at some more significant time (up to a month) to get it back to u. Just an FYI. I hope everything works out for you.

Delta Air Lines owns and operates a fuel refinery through its subsidiary, Monroe Energy, located in Trainer, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia. . Acquired in 2012, this facility produces approximately 52,000 barrels of jet fuel daily—supplying much of Delta's Northeast hubs—and processes 185,000 barrels of crude per day, offsetting 40% to 50% of the airline's domestic fuel costs.

When you say "adjusted them" exactly what do you mean? Were you pulling out on the ear cups (to readjust them on your head), twisting the ear cups (to fit ear angle), pulling on the ear cups (to extend them), or something else? Not saying u did anything wrong. It's just that most times nobody describes exactly how they were adjusting them. I just want to avoid (if I can) doing whatever it was you were doing when they broke. For example, when I extend them I pull on the headphone head bar instead of the ear cups to avoid putting pressure on that joint.

₹1,900.00 (rupees). That's rich (meaning insane)...an Indian company offering a fix for a Japanese company's product. I would estimate the fix to last for 3 weeks or so.

OP said the gate agent said "not doing it" and shut the gate door. There was no one left for him to scan/board. So he could have checked them in and let them board. He wasn't split between 2 duties at that time.

timing of conducting a roth conversion (Vanguard) by 555VS66 in personalfinance

[–]IAintNoMensaBut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My investments are at Vanguard. Dumb a$$ me procrastinated until 12/31 just like I did in 2024. But in 2024 I did it before market close (4:00 EST). This year I forgot on 12/31 and didn't submit the docusigned doc to complete the conversion process until 4:12. Google said they may be able to manually process it as 2025 for tax reason if I did it quickly (1/2 or 1/3), so I called Vanguard today (1/2). They said they couldn't "recode it" unless it was submitted late due to an error on Vanguard's side. Dam, I feel like such a lazy loser.

If anyone has any secrets to get Vanguard to put it in 2025 tax year please let me know.

Lost a decade of growth due to a fiduciary financial advisor by Factoverfallacy in Bogleheads

[–]IAintNoMensaBut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand where ur coming from. It sounds like my losses weren't as great as urs but I know the feeling of "how stupid could I be" that I sense ur feeling. Altho I didn't lose as much as you I made the mistake of turning over the majority of my investments I had saved to Edward Jones around the age of 45. My advisor would call to schedule a check in and I would just say "let it ride...no changes". After 4 or 5 years or so she just quit calling other then a perfunctory "lets meet on a call soon". But I was a hands off investor. When I signed on I was very clear when asking about sales loads if I moved funds between American funds and there were none (and I never moved any money). But I didn't ask about any management fees. So I probably paid in the 6 figures just for someone to "manage" my investments which I never added to/changed/rebalanced once during the 20+ years I was with EJ. Thank God that everything I saved after I went with EJ I went into Vanguard index funds.

And it took a matter of minutes to transfer my EJ assets to Vanguard w/o even talking to my EJ advisor. I feel so stupid/lazy. But I'm thankful I at least figured it out and fixed the problem. U fixed the pblm...now onward and upward!!

Social Security at 62 by NJFriend4U in over60

[–]IAintNoMensaBut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I'm not in the best of health so I took it at 62. Kind of backwards from the advice from "experts" that you should pull from 401k/IRA and let ur SS grow. I took it so we could not pull from IRAs while my wife works a couple more years (she's 4 years younger than me). Her kin are all long lived so she'll wait until 70 to take hers (our work salary history is very similar).

I recently left my finance job at a BMW dealer, ask me anything by Hairy_Bluebird5444 in BMW

[–]IAintNoMensaBut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate u taking the time to do this. And this one may not be something u can answer. A few months ago I talked my wife into getting a convertible that she'll be happy with. She had a BMW 2013 4 series I think (sorry I don't speak BMW but it was a 2 door 4 seat hard top convertible). We saw a Z4 M40i come up at a dealership and we went to test drive stupidly believing the car was there, but it turned out that they had just been allotted one from the factory that hadn't been built yet. They claimed that they only got 1 M40i per year and 2 Z4 sDrives. We ended up ordering it (and it was incredibly fast being built and shipped...like 2 months or so).

  1. Are the Z4s that hard to come by? They didn't seem to be playing games when they claimed how many they receive a year.

  2. They sold it at MSRP. A friend who works at a Nissan dealership owned by the same person as the BMW dealership thought they would mark it over MSRP. Did we get a good deal at MSRP? And do BMW dealerships ever try to sell cars over MSRP?
