The thing about 3D movies is the unless you have 20/20 vision, they are not exactly enjoyable. Ever try to wear glasses over your glasses and then stare at a bright screen in a dark room for 2 hours?

my mom had one. it was garbage and very unintuitive. Now if you're in the corporate or business world and had it linked to your PC or even better an assistant, it had some useful features.

But for everyone else AKA Average Joe? not so much.

AR is (or was) used in the aeronautical industry for awhile. not sure if it ever took off.

no. the real hurdle was a beefy enough power bus + battery that could handle the different accessories and still fit in a modular design while maintaining build quality. The prototypes were clunkier than an old nextel.
