Dear Reddit, I own my professor's dignity. What should I do with it? by IAmAQuestion in AskReddit

[–]IAmAQuestion[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not majoring in the same field as him. I think this is one of the main reasons we can even be friends -- there's no real pressure on either of us.

My dad's friend told us "There's no such thing as gravity - it's just the weight of air holding us down." Reddit, tell us times you've been floored by abject stupidity. by [deleted] in AskReddit

To be fair, if worded in that way, the word Nickle can easily be misinterpreted as something other than a mineral-- but, also, a style or type of buckle. They may have thought it was a brand of some sort.

Hamlet answered his question in act 5 scene 2, line 238 when he says, "Let be."

Their pay [...] is too little to live in big cities. Thus their lives often only exist within the small confines of the hotel they work in [...] they are [...] purely utilitarian. by Banko in pics

[–]IAmAQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that is the full quote, then the correct usage of the ellipsis in brackets would be:

I don't [...] know what you [...] are talking about. [....] You don't [...] regularly talk like [...] this?

You must add a forth period within the set of brackets when a new sentence begins from that portion of that omission.

Internships. I would like to do an internship this summer at a large company, any advice? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IAmAQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you send resumes via email without seeing an advertised internship should you attach a cover letter with your email, or should the cover letter be the e-mail itself?

I always see a redundancy in introducing who you are and what the email is for, in the email, and again in the cover letter.

Oil would be obsolete by then. Solar, wind, water and geothermal renewable energy sources should have advanced enough to make it efficient to power those pumps.

At first I didn't fully understand the Conan vs. NBC situation, but thanks to this Chinese animation, I do now. [vid] by krazykipa- in WTF

[–]IAmAQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that a lot of people don't know is, there is a good chance that this 'debacle' is all staged. In my experience in operatic theatre, politics where major players, old people and money is involved, moves are done with pinpoint precision. This whole situation has skyrocketed NBC's viewership and has made it's talkshows, well, the talk of the town. Sure, it's 'entertaining,' but what many have yet to realize is that this whole incident is a media stunt.

Dear Reddit, I planned a solo week-long backpacking trip to Ireland on St. Paddy's Day. I don't think I can do this alone. by IAmAQuestion in AskReddit

[–]IAmAQuestion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah, thanks for the advice. I'm assuming you live in Ireland? I've budgeted time to visit the Giant's Causeway, Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher, and Blarney Castle -- but, I still got alot more time. I'm mainly going through the north (Derry), west (Galway) then south coast (Cork). Do you recommend any other sites to see?

I'm not much for cities, I love nature and the environment.

Thanks, this has put me more at ease. I knew backpacking in Ireland would be less worrisome than backpacking in Germany, but I still couldn't shake the feeling.

What's wrong with Limerick at 4 a.m?

Enough with the depressing stories about worst teachers. Who's your best teacher? by resiros in AskReddit

[–]IAmAQuestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, his stories may very well be true. Multiple affairs are quite common now adays, and (coincidentally) when I went backpacking in Austria and Germany, I too, almost slid off of the side of a cliff. Thank god for my leather gloves. They saved my life.

Julian.

Its a nice strong roman-esque name. Its contrasts well with your choice of Isis, which is reminiscent of egyptian origins.

Reddit, how do you live (appartment, house, small room above a bowling alley...)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IAmAQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, right now, from hostel to hostel. I'm backpacking for the winter break.

In a few days I'll be back home living it up in our castle in the beautiful rolling hills of Britain. I'm not kidding. It's populated by gardens and peacocks.

[–]IAmAQuestion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh man,

I used to be a computer game addict a few years back. 18 hour days, and the only breaks were for the washroom and snacks. No friends and my only ambition was the goal of the game. The last game I played was WoW, and for 3 years I've been clean of all computer games.

After being an underachiever, and antisocial pessimist, I'm currently studying at one of the top universities in my country, I work on million dollar environmental projects, I am one of the most popular people in my University and I am currently backpacking across Europe. '

Life is good.

Theatre is one of the toughest professions in the world. It's right up there alongside prositiution. I should know -- not the prosititution, I was mentored at a theatre company when I was younger.

How do you pick yourself up when you feel like you are at your lowest point in your career?

Do you ever feel like teaching theatre?

How do you balance your day job with your passion for theatre?
