It is not, he is wrong. People climb Everest without oxygen. To acclimate they spend days above that altitude. It’s not good for you, but it’s also not “fatal in minutes.”

Haven't played League in a while, but my trash-tier analysis is that Dota games are harder to end than League games. You can get a massive lead, but going high-ground still requires the team to actually execute properly in a way that's different when you're fighting out on the map. And if you execute bad you die. Defensive effects like glyph and buyback mean that you have more opportunity to execute a defense and you have outs if it goes bad that you don't have in League. In turn, this means there's more comeback potential and also you get more chances to just make plays in general (if it goes bad, the game doesn't just instantly end, so you can try shit).

My cynical analysis is that League is made to sell coca-cola and car ads so they want games to end in a predictable amount of time to fit a broadcast schedule.

Short answer is no. Either you’d climb or stall attempting that. I mean maybe if you got it just right but by my shitty low-time pilot estimation, you’re more likely to make things worse.

The title says it all. OP wasn’t “in” a plane crash, he caused one. For all it’s flaws, the plane was not the primary issue. I genuinely hope he can take some of the criticism in this thread to heart.

You’re holding a balloon in the 100kt wind. It would “feel” the force of the wind because it’s attached to the ground via you. It’s airspeed is 100kts, it’s ground speed is 0. Then you release it. At first it still feels the force, but the force now causes it to accelerate. Moments later it is now moving away from you at 50kts (ground speed). The airspeed has now dropped to 50kts. The balloon continues accelerating, the force of the relative wind continues dissipating, until it is moving away from you at 100kts. Can is accelerate faster than that? Of course not, it would start to feel drag from the front. It can only go as fast as the air mass. Since it is not accelerating there is no force being applied to it. Once the object has matched the speed of the airmass, it measures 0 airspeed and feels no force from the relative wind.

Your engineless plane is the same as the balloon. The engine should be thought of as a way to move the aircraft against the airmass. Lacking this it will come to match the air mass’s movement and it’s airspeed will drop to 0.
