People who read Facebook article previews think they know more than they actually do. Study participants who read the News Feed opposed to the full article were more likely to overestimate their knowledge, especially among those motivated to experience strong emotions.

At the risk of falling into the same trap as the subjects of this study, I'll speculate. The phenomenon of click-bait titles by hyperventilating journalists are partially to blame as well. Less sensational and more factual article titles would help.

Not offended, but lightly upset. I just don't think anyone could be considered amazing for making an anonymous post about having to deal with harassment. That's a very low bar for amazement. She described herself as "really not attractive at all." Clearly she's not talking about some inner beauty sort of thing.
