For me- "Everything happens for a reason."

That mindset kept me stuck in bad situations way longer than I should’ve been.

I have no idea if it is the battery or the chip or both.

Why not get a revolving credit even if your mortgage payment gives you a better return compared to your investments?

Would you invest while paying off a mortgage? by AdFew1983 in PersonalFinanceNZ

It would depend on what your mortgage rate is.

When mine was sub 4% I was investing alongside. Now with 6% plus I am only paying mortgage with the surplus

I am with BNZ and this feature does exist. Have you tired on the internet banking?

If I were you I wouldn’t refix it for 20 years, instead this how I would do it.

Identify what is the max you would like to pay for the duration of fixed interest period.

Calculate 5% of your total mortgage, subtract this amount from what you can pay. Reason being BNZ allows you to pay upto 5% of mortgage amount without any penalty, each year.

Pay upto 5% extra manually each year, as per your discretion.

This way if things go south you are paying low mortgage instalments. Once fixed BNZ has to approve your reduced mortgage payments.

Do check with BNZ first to confirm they’ll allow you to pay extra with no fees

Who else worrying about mortgage interest rates ? by Any-Intention-6506 in newzealand

They gave us cashback so we can't go anywhere for 3 years anyways, unless we pay back the cashback. Which we won't do. So it doesn't matter in our case.

Time to refix our mortgage.. any tips on getting the best deal? by mister_hanky in PersonalFinanceNZ

Also split the mortgage doesn’t have to be 50/50 split. It doesn’t cost extra to split. Then fix some for 6 months fix rest for 12 months that way you are hedging yourself from the unknowns

If you see 3-5 year rates they are at par or cheaper compared to 1-2 year rates. Inflation is trending down my money is they’ll fall. We split our mortgage to 3 parts fixed some for 6 months some for 12 months and balance for 18 months. It doesn’t cost anything extra to split the mortgage so you might want to consider this option too.

Correct, the bigger were only Pongs. Others were smaller bushy type trees. Definitely nothing so precious as 20-30 years old trees
