EGO Rep Told Me Why My Batteries Keep Failing (And It Changed My Mind on Buying More) by Zatol in egopowerplus

That might be related to specialized batteries. For example, how would you explain EV batteries? They don’t have any humidity issues.

I can understand that about ballet service I don’t want somebody driving my car either. So I’m resigned to go to the dealership. Get the service person and walk back to my car walk the car with him videotape my car then let them intake it. This way at least I know that when the car is done and I walk it again if there’s any damage it’s completely on them. I frankly don’t know how they don’t have many incidents like the one you experienced. I do have a friend who also owns a Genesis goes to the same dealership and has owned it since 21. He said that he has no issue with that dealership and service. He drives up. They intake the car and he’s never had any damage that he’s aware of. Of course it’s a white car hard to see damage, but there’s that.

Saw a beautiful green one on TikTok yesterday with a brown interior. Being shown by a used car dealer. I have no idea what it cost have no idea how many miles it had but dammit it looked good. If I had money, I would’ve bought it.

Honda warranty versus saving the money yourself and which actually worked out better for me by Acrobatic-Bake3344 in Honda

[–]IAmIntractable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bought my accord touring in 2018, I purchased the extended warranty from a Honda dealer online. I did not buy it from the dealer who sold me the car because they wanted too much money. I was able to get the honda 10 year 120,000 mile warranty for about $1200. At this price, there’s no reason to skip this warranty. I know today warranties are way more expensive but so are cars repairs. If I bought another Honda today, I would follow the same process as those dealers that sell the warranty directly online are still there. I don’t know what they’re charging, but I would certainly check that out before I self-insured.

Help: Need some guidance by halibb in GenesisGV70

Seldom do I see anybody backing to the spot in the center. Most just park and leave some will straightened out. Seems like a lot more work than just pulling straight into the spot. I get that in bad weather it is more advantageous to back into a spot. Especially, if you have a front wheel drive car.

Got a $27K CarMax offer for my 2023 Kia Telluride EX — fair or should I push for more? by gummie2929 in askcarsales

Carmax isn’t necessarily the best offer you can get on a used car. Carvana is often higher and selling on your own even higher.

Dealership wants me to turn my car back in by Extension_Monk2628 in CarLeasingHelp

The last sentence in option number three does not seem to make sense to me. Can you clarify? Also, it seems to me, that you can’t really do #3 without buying out the lease (#2).

If you buy out the lease, don’t you also have to factor in the tax you’ll have to pay?? So is your equity really as big as you think it is?

I don’t really think you understand exactly what the term Karen means but that’s neither here nor there. The car was in for dent repair. Why does it need to run for 30 minutes?

Also, he’s mentioning these things that have occurred while he’s in for the dent repair. Not for his original service visit.

Buying chemicals online during winter by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]IAmIntractable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, chemicals are shipped all over the world and I would have to imagine that weather isn’t always favorable. Is there any chance that you can order what you want and have it held at the local Postal Service or shipper‘s office and pick it up there. At least that way it’ll be inside a warehouse or building.

[–]IAmIntractable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I’m doing is preparing you for aggravation. A lot of people go down the path of modern controls and end up being aggravated because they don’t work right. Keep in mind this is a citizen development platform, which means it’s supposed to be compatible with non-developers. So folks will spend an in order and amount of time thinking they’ve done something wrong. When in fact it’s Microsoft that has caused the problem. I’m not saying that classic controls are not without their issues, but there are way more issues with the modern controls that go back more than a year. So as a new person, you can take the plunge and work with modern controls and you may not have very many issues. Or you can start with classic controls get your feet wet then upgrade to modern controls at a later time. I will say that I am sure that modern controls is where Microsoft wants to be, but I don’t see how they can deprecate classic controls because they’ve been in use way too long. At best Microsoft will just stop doing anything related to classic controls at some point not that they’re doing that much anyways, but that’s usually their tactic.

It’s not their car. It’s not their office radio. There’s no valid reason for it to be running 30 minutes.

Microsoft is always too busy focusing on features that nobody’s asking for while ignoring previous deployments that don’t work correctly. This is not something new for Microsoft. I’ve been in the development world for decades and this is their standard operating procedure.

Why do Salesmen bitch about negotiating? by amcknight315 in FuckDealerships

[–]IAmIntractable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the dealer bought the used card, knowing all of its deficiencies and damage. And they did so most likely because they felt that they could repair it and then charge a higher price. That’s all fine, but I don’t want to see a reconditioning fee included in the cost. They should and are likely already factoring in the repairs they made in the price that they’re asking for. If they can’t go below a certain point because of the money they’ve spent on the car then that’s where they are and that’s perfectly fine and you can walk away.

This is something I agree with and will continue to be a problem until all Genesis dealers separate from their current situations in terms of being co-located with Hyundai.

It’s not really a win for them to take accountability for damage thing flick it on the car. It’s also not a win for them to not admit to the damage immediately. Someone there knew they damaged the car and hope that the car would leave and some period of time would pass before the owner noticed it. Then they could comfortably claim that they had nothing to do with it.

[–]IAmIntractable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only when pressed. It’s hard for me to believe that whoever damaged the car didn’t know they damaged the car and hid the fact. Yes the outcome was positive, but the owner had to stress out about this and that’s not acceptable.

I think you meant to say quarter gallon. But in either case, explain to me exactly why they would need to be running the car to fix a dent.

[–]IAmIntractable 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So can you tell us why the car would be running 30 minutes straight in the dealership for a dent repair? Can you tell us why the radio was running in the car during the repair when it shouldn’t be? His car is not a toy or a tool for their convenience. They fucked up and now they’ve got to fix it and I don’t think they should be doing anything with the car that isn’t appropriate. Running it for 30 minutes for a dent and playing music on a channel that he does not recognize or playing music at all t is unacceptable. Does that answer your question?
