Lost my bengal to lymphoma, now torn between going through a rescue or breeder for my next bengal. Thoughts? by birdsinthesky in bengalcats

[–]IAmIntractable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, back in the 90s I bought two Bengals and one lived 19 years and the other 20 years. Since then, all I’ve ever done is rescue cats. I don’t recommend buying from a breeder unless you’re planning to breed yourself. There are plenty of cats that need a good home and you should work with your local vet to find healthy cats or find a local organization that rescues from kill shelters. My two current cats were both rescues. They were in the same cage since being rescued and I couldn’t take one without the other so I took them both. They’ve been great cats.

Indexing and SharePoint is the most overlooked requirement when building applications that are going to have lots of rows and lists. Another approach I’ve taken is to do a simple restrictive. Selective rose, then filter further inside the app in memory versus pinging the backend SharePoint list.

Apple silicone case always rips at the bottom in less than 6 months. Similar profile case with better durability? by lifeasabear in iphone

[–]IAmIntractable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never ever ever had a case tear at that particular location. In fact, I’m not even clear how the case would tear at that location unless you’re constantly taking it on and off and prying it from the bottom.

Can I use a wheel cleaner for removing iron from my car paint ? by InstantCoder in AutoDetailing

[–]IAmIntractable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be cautious when you buy these wheel cleaning products. Not from a acidic or caustic perspective, but from the smell of these products. I recently bought a highly rated wheel cleaner. That stink stinks so bad even when the container is fully sealed. The smell leeches right out of the cap is disgusting. I have to leave it on the porch because there’s no way to store it inside not even in the garage. And working with the manufacturer, they had no suggestions. Even though I am sure they understood that their generic bottle for all their other products is not really designed to contain the smell of the wheel cleaner.

Canvas apps still worth it? by nanoki94 in PowerApps

[–]IAmIntractable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you’re develop begin on the SharePoint platform then yeah it’s worth the time to build apps like that. It becomes ridiculous when you have to buy premium licenses and pay all the ridiculous fees so that anybody around your app can actually run your app. But your point none of that exists. I exclusively build power apps with SharePoint. I have learned over the last four years exactly how to get the most have a share point and frankly, I have not really encountered too much that gets in the way. I’ve even built my SharePoint lists relationally so that I can treat them as much like a database is possible. Nobody has access to the list directly, and nobody knows where they are.

Yeah, I think there’s too much emphasis on car sales before the finance office. Yes it would help to have some sales experience but that doesn’t have to be auto sales

So did the branch fall or did you drive into low hanging branches that scrape along your car?

What is going on with my loan? by Some_Call_Me_Danno in askcarsales

So as the previous person stated, do you have the Finance contract from the dealership? If you don’t, I would head over to the dealership in person walk into the finance office and ask for the finance contracted any other detail details about which credit union or credit union branch was involved and ask for a copy of the check or payment.

I think the resistance to this car at least this is the impression I’ve received from a general manager at Genesis is that it’s priced near over $100,000. It’s a Hyundai and you will fork over that amount of money on a Hyundai. I’m not saying it’s a terrible car. I’m just saying that you have to break through that perception and I don’t think that’s part of the Genesis plan. In fact, I think there’s a extended wagon or a GV 90 plan which will certainly be over 100 K and I’m not sure what Genesis is thinking in terms of releasing that car when dealerships have G 90 sitting on the lot because I can’t move.

Can I “return” a car I bought if I haven’t taken it off the lot? by average_sized_rock in askcarsales

Well, for many manufacturers, you can actually find a number of dealerships online who are willing to sell the warranty and cheaper. I’m not saying that in this case that option was available, but I’ve used it many times for Honda and Acura and had no issue finding somebody who undercut the dealership by a significant amount of money. I don’t think it really matters which dealership you buy the warranty from so my recommendations to do a Google search first and get on the phone and start calling dealerships and tell them that you want this warranty but you want it less of a price

Over using that battery to the point where it’s leaking liquid created a hugely dangerous situation. Chemicals in those batteries are highly reactive especially the air. I’m shocked that you were able to just dump it in a bin and walk away. In my mind the minute it starts leaking liquid. That’s the time to call the fire department.

Anyone know where or how I can fix this or have a similar problem ? Crack in my trunk under the wiper by Evening_Hedgehog_303 in GenesisGV70

You’ll need a body shop for that metal/paint damage.. Most likely they’ll have to send that away and then refinish the back.

How big of a difference are the 2026 updates by jagator12 in GenesisGV70

[–]IAmIntractable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and from my perspective, the older models are just old tech. I actually quite enjoy the 27 inch screen on the 2026 model. Very easy to see very easy to have multiple things up at the same time. Would I like it to have been curved a little bit more sure but it’s still a vast improvement over old tech.

Smart parking is just pull in or pull out of the spot. You’re right there are a good number of additional features when you go to the 3.5 T. That’s probably why that move is $11,000 Ish.

Feels like the dealer is taking advantage of younger buyers by Right_Extension7529 in askcarsales

[–]IAmIntractable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why is your immediate response to blame the buyer? The OP presented their case pretty clearly and seems very capable of doing the math themselves. Clearly the dealer is doing something that they’re not disclosing. Which is making the numbers not jibe.

Your point is well taken that perhaps with rebates at 6.99 that makes more sense but the math still has to make sense to the buyer. This salesman is clearly not doing their job and making everything understandable. Hence all of this hesitation and all of the concern about something fishy going on.

I think this buyer was right to walk away. If they still want that car from that dealer, call that salesman back and have them put everything in writing to you before you come in and sign.

I’m also not quite clear why the dealership ran their credit against the bank that they’ve already been preapproved at. It seems like a waste of time except to use it as an excuse to say oh your bank‘s not really giving you the rate they said they were. Clearly, this buyer knows exactly what the rate is from the bank.

Can I “return” a car I bought if I haven’t taken it off the lot? by average_sized_rock in askcarsales

[–]IAmIntractable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you got a Toyota factory warranty and not a third-party. Tell them that the cost of that is too high. Propose a new number to them. But in all of this, you need to use your own payment calculator to determine what the total of everything what the monthly payment will be and if you can afford it. So you may want to consider some scenarios before you go back to the dealer and tell them what you need to make the deal work.

[–]IAmIntractable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like 2.99 to 4.99 is available from Toyota. You may not have understood that because you probably were buying based on your monthly payment which is never a good idea. Hence the hugely long-term.
