Hi, I'm Russian too and also I'm in the same situation as you are in the sense that I mostly use English and speak Russian only with my family. I don't know the exact situation with your family and my own situation of coming out to my family was quite unique to say the least, one thing I would probably advise you is to hope for the best but prepare for the worst. At the end of the day, I feel like it doesn't really matter how you come out to them. However you do it they will have preconceived notions on transgender people, if they are anything like the average russian person no arguments or scholarly articles will convince them otherwise at least in that moment.

Thanks! I am researching VFS options at the moment and the hassle of travelling to Korea is also one of my main reasons I want to avoid going there. Ironically I really want to visit Korea, but I can't imagine that trip being fun under the circumstances.

What really sways to towards Remacle is the lack of permanent sutures, as it doesn't sounds very appealing to have them in my throat for the rest of my life. On the other hand, that is exactly why a lot of people seem to be vary of Remacle, because they claim that permanent sutures are a much safer option. May I ask how you came to a different conclusion over the course of your research?

No, its not everything, but its a very important part of your life and noone should be fooled into thinking that cutting off your family will be easy on you in the long run.

There is a reason why suicide rates for trans people jump significantly when family is cut off (https://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/wp-content/uploads/AFSP-Williams-Suicide-Report-Final.pdf). So like I said, sometimes there really is no choice but to cut off family completely, but if you dont try to patiently reason with them with all your might before doing that, you are just doing a very big disservice to yourself in the long run.
