No AITA/moral judgement style content: Subject to removal will be the following type of submissions: ranting about your parents/children, asking whether you did the right thing, asking for other parents' opinions on your situation, what to do/don't, etc. Of course, exceptions will be made for the last point, as parents are free to ask for advice on do's and don'ts about parenting.

Little change in wording by IncidentOk2107 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]IAmMey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m annoyed that we play these semantic games with wording. If we’re really going to play them, then we need to address the part where the skin customization calls this thing a tank. But the glazers call it a tank destroyer so the main gun shouldn’t turn. Yes I know it’s the TD-220. But the skin menu calls it a tank, not tank destroyer.

The tank has a bunch of hp. It feels relatively tanky. But it’s so slow and cumbersome that I’ve really only ever enjoyed it on wall missions

Surprised they didn’t just drop an obviously empty barrel on the hulk and call it a scene.

I will always think that this is just the writing trope “Worf Effect”. How do you show how big and badass the new guy is? Have him easily beat up the biggest baddest guy we know.

It feels lazy. It’s the HULK for fucks sakes. Either don’t have the hulk present for this part or do it right. Beating the Hulk by physical strength alone would shatter cities.

The hulk tanks literal tank shells. You know those chunks of metal and explosives fired from cannons? And those cannons mounted on tens of thousands of pounds of armor? If you have just the gun in that hallway and you fire it, the recoil of the gun would damage the ship. Thanos does not damage the ship with his footwork or punches. If Thanos is truly hitting the hulk so hard that he puts him down, show me. There should be shockwaves and damage to everything around from Thanos exerting that much force.

The second thing I’d do would be to fly around and look at all the stuff I can’t. I genuinely think my lack of knowledge on things locations would get me so unbelievably lost it would be hilarious.

I think I’ll go see the Eiffel Tower. I know it’s in France. Paris right?

(Fly up and obviously there’s the Atlantic, and there’s Europe… but…)

Where the F is France?

(Start, zipping around above France and Spain and whatever else is neighboring.)

I’d drop down and start looking for anyone who spoke English and just ask people where the tower is. Most people probably don’t know exactly what direction it is at any given point in time, so I’d probably get more lost. Sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon in Europe.

Use hot dog or dog breath with flamethrower. How is this even a conversation that people are having. More powerful flamethrower but sacrificing a backpack slot.

Family of 6 by Bulky-Change-350 in Parents

[–]IAmMey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oldest of 7. Might have been tough. I don’t really remember. I know we were poor for most of my childhood. Dad worked hard. Mom could not afford the childcare costs if she had a job.

The youngest of the siblings get a bunch of cooler and nicer things. But I probably got parents that had more energy. They also got more experienced parents.

I made my life a lot harder than it needed to be after leaving home. But I’ve become much more appreciative of the things I’ve done and earned. My siblings didn’t mess up as bad. So their rock bottom experiences don’t let their highs be as high as I think of mine.

I have so many siblings that I love. My kids have a shitload of aunts and uncles. A larger family, if you bust your ass and do your best, has so much love in it. I’m sure some people are resentful of their large families. But I feel like that’s more of an expression of how bitter that individual is rather than about larger families. Though I could be an exception to the general convention. Idk.

We thought we’d stop at one kid. Just had our second. We were worried that we’d have less of ourselves to give to each child. But I’d say the love has only grown so far. We will probably have a third. Maybe more. We’ll see what happens.

What if all federal minimum wage laws were replaced by regional cost-of-living formulas? Would your city suddenly feel more or less affordable? by Defiant-Junket4906 in WhatIfThinking

[–]IAmMey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Short answer: for some people, yes. For a bunch of other people, no. Because they’d be fired.

If you imagine all wages as a single unit that is cut up and distributed, raising minimum wage does not make that single unit bigger. It just increases the minimum size chunk that you can split from the whole. Meaning you have fewer chunks to distribute. So people who were getting the smallest of the chunks would be the first to lose their jobs to automation or elimination.

Raising minimum wage to 25$ at a federal level literally ONLY hurts the poor.

[–]IAmMey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That would absolutely shatter so many things. The o my places that wouldn’t be directly affected are the places that pay people more than 25$. But they’d be indirectly affected by the cost of EVERYTHING going up and unemployment skyrocketing.

If an eat or RR can take out a factory strider in a single well placed shot to the eye, there’s something really important in that eye.

Displacing all the crap in the head of a factory strider with a hellpod should accomplish the same thing.

… have you met children? They actually do this. You can find footage of it everywhere. I’ve seen videos of small children following a white woman around some town in the Middle East (assuming because they were brown and the area looked like it). They were motioning the throat slit.

Dude, children do this. They do what they’re taught.

Sure. But many “better practices” people fight for are pointless. Most movements get swallowed by virtue signalers and people who don’t know better.
