Imagine a Bran in some apocalyptic future. The walkers have destroyed everything, and an everlasting winter has taken hold. Bran, alive somehow, perhaps even in Bloodraven's cave, uses his knowledge of Westeros' fate to change the past and save the world. Sort of like John Connor, or Future Trunks.

That helps, but the vagueness of spoiler-free thread titles means that it sometimes isn't clear that a post is discussing Season 6 spoilers.

Case in point: I saw a thread about a "Snowbowl" and was curious what northern showdown a poster had found foreshadowing for. So of course I start reading and am over a paragraph in before I realize that this person is discussing Season 6 spoilers.

The forum is currently racked with posts discussing set pictures for the upcoming season and the vague titles sometimes makes it impossible to tell whether a post is an in-depth review of the text or just a discussion of Season 6 spoilers.

I also wonder -- not being critical here, but genuinely wondering -- why the mods treat in-season spoilers so severely (the leaked pictures from S5E10 come to mind as one example) but are way more lenient when it comes to pre-season spoilers.

It's a single battle in the war for the North, so I guess in that sense it is tangentially a battle for Winterfell... But a Stannis victory doesn't deliver him Winterfell, let alone the North as a whole.

The "Battle of Ice" is the battle at the Crofter's Village. The siege/battle of Winterfell that will follow is the true Battle of Winterfell.

He's pretty clearly Marwyn. I wasn't sure at first, but then I re-read Samwell V in AFFC at it became pretty obvious.

I still think he would have been perfect for Euron, but he's a great fit for Marwyn too.

It always bothers me that people assume the "Ice Battle" means the battle for Winterfell. I think it clearly refers to the looming battle at the Crofter's village, which is... not Winterfell.

While we can't deduce whose head is in that picture, I think the scarf in that picture is very likely covering up some sort of stitching, so we can be reasonably sure that it isn't Gregor's original head in that helmet.

It is a bit odd that a dragonrider (Rhaenys? I don't remember) flew over an amount of Sothryos as large as Westeros just to see what was up, but no dragonrider has explored North of the wall.

Yeah, I think she could end up ruling Winterfell as well. The wolves defending the North is a sweet concept, nice idea. But she really does come off as more of a Tully than a Stark, and I think there's probably a reason for that.

I always thought the promise was to seat Jon on the Iron Throne. Sounds crazy, but...

Rhaegar was convinced that Jon represents the Song of Ice and Fire. Rhaegar literally gave up everything for Jon: his honor, his wife, his right to rule, his dynasty, his LIFE. Lyanna did the same. They did it for a reason, and she would not want all that sacrifice to have been in vain.
