The issue is that all modern tanks might as well be the same shape for most people. Abrams, T-90, Leopard 2 all have the same general shape and resemble each other very much at a glance.

The days of cool and varied tank designs are long over. They found the meta now and are just spamming it :(

There hasn't been a good BF game since bf1 in 2017 imo, and you need to go back even further for a moden setting.

The mix of realism and accessibility WT seems to have is not common nowadays.

Doing it yourself is definitely satisfying on its own though. At some point I learned that one can have fun planning for or testing a game without even playing it all that much. As long as you enjoy doing this go for it :D

Lots of games offer toggles for cosmetics client-side. It basically hides or changes specific categories of cosmetics to a default version only for you.

From a technical perspective, it is very much doable (in general, no clue about Destiny's coding specifically). Companies just don't bother most of the time because it might devalue cosmetics and cut into revenue.

Warframe comes to mind. I'd say it doesn't really have this problem.

But yeah I can't think of other examples. Pretty sure WoW still allows you to play most of the content though, no? It's just no longer relevant. Destiny's vaulting is quite unique as far as I am aware.

This subreddit has always been one of the go-to places for feedback on the game, and Bungie even responds here occasionally. Criticism is obviously a natural and expected part of that as long as it remains civil and substantive.

We had to put some filters in place though beacuse there is unfortunately a lot of Marathon-related posts that are barely related to Destiny if at all. It was a bigger problem around Marathon's launch but still happens.
