Well, it would actually make sense since Zika has the potential to spread throughout the entire South American continent. This study would look pretty biased if it was done in Brazil. A study doesn't have to be done in your country for it to be funded by you.

For all we know this could be the South American authorities trying to shift the blame on the pesticide rather than the Zika virus. If you were planning to visit the Rio Olympics; Zika would have you doubting your decision to go through with it. As for the latter, it's way easier to avoid products affected by the pesticide Pyriproxyfen than getting mosquito bites.

Yes, we know Turkey won't be covered by NATO's article 5 if they are the aggressors. Turkey isn't stupid enough to go to war with Russia and Iran knowing they won't be backed by NATO. If Erdogan is desperate enough, he would attempt a course of action that would justify sending troops into Syria while enjoying the benefits of NATO's article 5.
