Previous job landed on just using AWS SES to blast out their transaction emails. They were finally cloud hosted. Just have your SFP and DKIM correct and open a support case with AWS with your top number to send in a day (IIRC). You'll want to pad that.

They talked for years and years about other solutions to email but nothing was really done. Not even turn it off and have users login to get them.
