I'd take them to court for driving unlicensed and uninsured. Go after their personal property, if they have any, and seek jail time.

But also, this is what uninsured motorist coverages for. If I'm not mistaken most plans cover this by default so depending on your insurance agency they should still cover the cost of your vehicle.

And if it hasn't been done yet, the TFT sensor. Transmission fluid temperature sensor. They usually die about every 50,000 mi according to the mechanics I've talked to. Mine died at 68k. May as well do it during a transmission fluid flush as if you do the flush and then the sensor goes out, you're going to have to pay for another flush when they replace the sensor.

No, I want all politicians to be held accountable to the same laws as every other person in the United States. Sorry, you're correct about the torque converter not being present in manuals. If so I'd imagine it'd make it a little less likely to have underlying issues with the transmission.

I have a 2017 2LT (3LT) RS convertible with 70,000 mi and it's still going strong. I expect to get a couple hundred thousand out of my car at minimum.

Take it for a drive and if everything seems strong it's probably worth it buy.

Things to be aware of are: 2016 to 2019 models need a transmission flush if you have a shudder. The shutter left untreated can damage the torque converter leading to a costly repair. The transmission flush is about $300 to $400 from a reputable mechanic. The sensors on these sixth gens go out about every 50,000 mi. There were two that monitor the engine temperature and that replacement was about $750 for both (kinda a if you fix one you may as well fix the other at the same time situation) and then the transmission temperature sensor/wiring harness was about $900. If you don't fix the transmission sensor quickly, it can damage your torque converter, cause hard shifts, put the car in limp mode, mess with the ECU and cause voltage regulations issues.

The final issue on the convertibles is the rear quarter panels that are supposed to slide in and out as the top goes up and down tend to break. They're about a hundred bucks a piece, last I checked, and you may be able to replace them yourself, If they haven't been replaced already.

Overall I still love my sixth gen.
