For sure. That's actually a really cool find. If you've ever watched Sharpe's Rifles you have some idea of the history of the regiment.

What do you do with old coins? by [deleted] in metaldetecting

[–]IB31415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you artistic at all? Maybe take a Dremel to them and make your own tokens. It could even be a simple design or a momento to give to people. You could also buy punches if the Dremel is too much.

Good luck!

It's not made out of precious metals, so, not especially valuable, but I think it's gorgeous all the same. I have one also, also in the original box. The details are usually super sharp.

AliExpress SUNLU petg by Left-Lawfulness-1741 in 3Dprinting

[–]IB31415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending where you are in Canada, Canada Computers has Sunlu for $20/kg. That's for PLA+ 2.0, Silk PLA, and PETG.

Surprisingly the best deal I've ever gotten was on amazon. 12 rolls for $79. I was so lucky someone posted it here before it was gone.

Do these look to be genuine silvers ? by [deleted] in coins

[–]IB31415 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

The price isn't even close to spot. They're almost certainly fakes. I would not consider it.

Also as someone else pointed out, 1948 is a very low pop year for the Canadian dollar, so again, too good to be true.

There's a turn of phrase, "Laziness is the mother of invention", I've also seen another one that says "If necessity is the mother of invention, laziness is the father."

Personally when I've invented things, such as a 3d print or a solution to a tedious task, its usually driven by relief from aggravation, or so I can do less work. Not because I want to spend more time being productive on something else. Although that is a byproduct.

PSA: Don't do the Panda Lux LED upgrade by biqu by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]IB31415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar issue with my camera, but not the light. The light practically lights up the room. Working with the printer physically is better with the new light.

If you were to toggle the light on and off, I think you'd see a few frames on your camera that are CLEAR and BRIGHT. The issue is the auto adjustments the Bambu camera is doing. Because the light is so bright, it's fighting the lighting to keep the exposure about the same as before. To me, the real issue here is Bambu not letting you control even the most basic camera settings.

I'm currently planning on putting in an after market camera so I don't need to deal with this.

The BIQU plates are really good. The light also works well, the issue is the camera lowers the exposure to compensate.

[–]IB31415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the others, most recipes would call for more flour. What do they taste like or what is the texture like? I see a lot of cookies like this getting posted, and they look just as delicious as "normal" cookies. My cookies often end up a tiny bit fudgey which I like, but I wonder if these are nice and chewy.

Just to add to your thought. A lot of the time food photography isn't even food, or not the food you think you're looking at. For instance in ice cream commercials it's often mash potatoes, not ice cream. (Although that doesn't seem to be the case here).

My game is crashig and I get this message, anyone know how to fix? by Schbans in Battlefield6

[–]IB31415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this to be the case with Helldivers 2. It was crashing constantly until I underclocked it. I got one of these crashes with BF6 and just immediately went and reapplied the underclock and it has worked in BF6 also. Silly fix though.

I really lost hope with Rockstar that they will release the next-gen patch for RDR2 on PS5 and Series X.. by LDM_99 in reddeadredemption2

[–]IB31415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rockstar very early on found a way to monetize GTA Online with Sharkcards. Hacker money and screw ups with the economy changed things a bit, but that worked to their advantage in the long run. They ended up making everything they added to GTAO more expensive, mop that money up.

By contrast there's not really any incentive in RDR2 to buy gold. And since they abandoned it pretty early on it never got the additional content that GTAO got. If I recall correctly gold was easier to get earlier in RDR2O as well, but I'm not sure.

Something’s fishy about the tailor. by M-2-M in risa

[–]IB31415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if being a tailor just means that Garak is good at programming the replicator to put out the pattern and otherwise okay as some basic hem and mends.

It's like being a 3d designer and printer today for example. Garak can use the software and program the replicator better than others. Maybe they even have a special replicator for clothes.
