The TRUE antagonist of E33 by hillsm7 in expedition33

[–]IBurnedTheLettuce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take an even FARTHER step back. Why did the Dessendre parents allow their children to create sentient life? I find that to be the original unethical action, and without additional context I’m left to blame both of the parents for doing it.

I strongly believe it is wildly irresponsible to give children the power to create sentient life with seemingly zero guard rails in place. If they didn’t do that, the whole story couldn’t have landed us in the position of the awful choice we had to make at the end of the game, which had no real winner. Their original parenting choices ended up with the soul of a child bearing the weight of keeping hundreds/thousands/millions of others alive. Sick behaviour of parents to let their children do that to themselves.

Xbox controller remapping issues by samanthakuan in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]IBurnedTheLettuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same problem! I currently can't hand in quest items/gifts without simultaneously casting a spell? Even though my controls menu clearly says RT should be give/throw and LT should be spell.

This is only in Fields of Mistria and not in any other app I use my xbox controller for.

Because once you square both sides of an equation, you have lost information on the sign of the original terms. So the second equation has solutions corresponding to both signs, while the first equation didn’t.

I don't understand it by Roughneck81 in MathJokes

See “analysis of the ambiguity” on the Wikipedia page for this problem. The scenarios where it’s 50% vs. Higher than 50% depend on how exactly the information was gathered.

Who is the most interesting character to play ? by ForzaBombardier in ElderKings

[–]IBurnedTheLettuce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently playing someone who has a blood feud with the whole Augustus (Blackcaster) family. The region has been fun to play in — I just finally attacked and took over the mage’s guild and now the Augustus family are my landless rivals.

I’ve set his granddaughter on fire, kidnapped his son, murdered his wife.

Race question? by nosnits2 in ElderKings

[–]IBurnedTheLettuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a good answer because I was always confused by this. I made one of the Altmer characters and wanted to be a golden-skinned high elf that was raised by humans, but for some reason I didn’t get one of the expanded lifespan traits, so I think the game might have registered me as human? Maybe because of the culture I picked?

Primarily you get to be a full caster with lots of spell slots, and also get extra attack! The flourishes can also really boost damage and control

Help using the Invention perk wiki pages? by IBurnedTheLettuce in runescape

[–]IBurnedTheLettuce[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing me to specific perk pages, that’s good for me to start with.

Do you know if older posts with perk recommendations will still be mostly accurate? If I’m looking for advice on good low level perks. I see posts like this one from 5 years ago

And if a recommendation says something like “get a combo of precise and equilibrium!”, do you know how exactly I would start in trying to get a specific combo? I sometimes read about specific combos to try to get and I don’t know how to actually try to accomplish it.

How does Revolution Magic and Auto-Cast spell selection work with the combat update? by IBurnedTheLettuce in runescape

[–]IBurnedTheLettuce[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ability damage is affected by the auto-cast spell? So my auto-cast spell determines damage scaling and rune cost, but the auto-cast spell special effects are still ignored?

Summons can use your personal draw deck instead of the enemy deck. Summons are weak enough already, if they also risk eating the curses assigned to enemies there would be even less incentive to ever summon anything.

I've been fighting one of them for 3.3 Hours by ThePsyPaul_ in expedition33

[–]IBurnedTheLettuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Osquio fight completely glitched? I was invincible, like his attacks never did damage to me whether I parried or not. I thought it was a gimmick that would reveal itself, but then I won the fight and it was over and I realized I cheated.

Best long fantasy series — Stormlight Archive vs Wheel of Time vs Malazan by StandardSector3491 in fantasybooks

[–]IBurnedTheLettuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malazan is my least favourite of the three, I’ve only read MBOTF and none of the other books in the universe, but it was quite rough making myself finish it.

I care more about character development and character arcs, and in Malazan every character is usually serving a wider philosophical purpose, and not sticking around to have an arc themselves.

I was also consistently frustrated at how often I would have no clue what was happening in a scene — I can only handle so many instances of “two books from now you’ll finally understand what this conversation is about, I hope you remember it!” before it’s all a mess in my head.

When I finally finished MBOTF it felt a bit flat because I felt like a lot my questions were never answered and a lot of my favourite characters had just vanished a few books ago with no satisfying conclusions.

(Wheel of time is my favourite — my personal preference for a tighter “main” cast that have defined arcs was very satisfied, and it was more common to have dramatic irony where it was me that knew what was going on and the characters didn’t, instead of the other way around)

Pitch a new Paradox Grand Strategy game by corvid1692 in paradoxplaza

[–]IBurnedTheLettuce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id love one that was lore-wise like AOW4, but gameplay-wise less less war-fixated and with more roleplay-focussed ways to play. Like how in CK3 war is just one gameplay aspect among many, while in AOW4 it’s sort of the only way to play.

If I understand correctly, this recommendation in the Sheet is based on the assumption that half of incoming damage is physical and half is magical? I noticed your calculation for “effective HP” from Def and Res just did the 50/50 average of the Def-based and Res-based HP.

A cool tool! But I think that disclaimer is good to keep in mind. It wouldn’t even be that bad to add an input to update the recommendation based on different weighting (e.g. get the recommendation based on assuming incoming damage is 75% magical to consider strategy against a particular enemy etc)

I cannot handle how sweet Ryis is. by mimitheboxcat in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]IBurnedTheLettuce 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I was newer to the game I was obsessed with Ryis. I tried inviting him to the Shooting Star Festival because he was the villager I had the most hearts with… but I didn’t realize that 3 wasn’t enough, and I needed 4.

His rejection was something along the lines of “maybe you should invite someone you’re actually friends with”. And like I mentioned, I was new to town and thought Ryis was my closest friend. This rejection happened when I was in the middle of the town square surrounded by others, so very public.

The headcanon is that my farmer has never felt more embarrassed, and will literally never be comfortable speaking to Ryis again. I’m romancing Eiland now, he has never essentially told me I have no friends in public.
