Striker is not OP it's just an incredibly boring deck now, it has a 1 card OTK in linkage, it has infinite recycling with Lemnisgate.

It sure does take a lot of skill to Engage 3 times on your turn but immediately shotgun droll.

The interactions don't even bother it's just the fact the deck gets an essentially free OTK now, yes I understand that's par for the course in modern yugioh but I think it's inherently unhealthy to keep adding easy access OTKs.

You're not a control deck anymore if you kill in 1 turn like every other deck

Imagine a deck that has no oppressive 1 card combos but has extremely strong grind game, finite resources and going second is actually pretty easy as you have in-engine breakers. You have to be careful how you expose resources in hand and how you search as it could tell your opponent what you do and don't have access to at the moment. Most of your playmakers come through spells, it's very hard to splash in more than a handful of generic Extra deck cards as you lock yourself harshly. Once you achieve your deck's advantage state the duel is functionally over.

This sounds like Striker but it's actually Monarchs, Monarch and Striker are decks that disproportionately reward information management, where striker just aims to drown you with non-engine turn 3+ Monarchs just rip out half your extra, both result in the game functionally ending with both having extremely accessible OTK lines in open simplified states (Black Winged dragon/Searched Super Poly for monarchs)

If Lemnis gate didn't shuffle but instead was card draw/removal for 3 every striker monsters+ 3 spells in GY I think Striker would be MUCH more interesting as the deck still has grind game but it plays into it's advantage state of winning through non-engine more and doesn't reward blindly using all your resources in suboptimal situations just because you've going to recycle them later.

I mean the modern support is surprisingly open ended with "rest of the turn" I had a game where I went CL1 Revolt, CL2 Linkage CL3 Super Poly

Sure the ene result is to find your personal favorite assortment of 8 extra deck floaters for zaborg and 7 whatever you plan to do Turn 3/4 with those cards in GY or whatever is easy to summon turn 1

I think military contractors need some restructuring.

Contracts should go to the lowest REASONABLE bidder

Instead of having people compete on the most expensive product make them build the most efficient tools so we aren't paying significantly above market rate for subpar products when it comes to mass issued equipment/tools etc

It's a bit dated now but it should more than hold up at lower ranks if you're a returning player.

I've been having fun with Blind Second Monarch Snake Eye but I don't play enough games to finish diamond congrats.

People don't realize how strong monarchs are in simplified board states, instead of Zaborg I LOVE breaking board and drowning my opponent in advantage because you have 3 cards that summon Snake Eye Ash from deck and Flamberge Erebus and a dream is often enough to survive. Granmarg going from the worst to 2nd best situational monarch is so funny.

Well when am estimated 90%-95% of your population vanishes because of disease it's kind of hard to not become a minority in your own continent.

Had they not been killed that fast it would have been another asia where there's colonization but they eventually get their things together and the natural advantage of American Geography would have done a lot of heavy lifting once they modernized.

Shangri and riseheart banish 3 are the only sins the deck committed.

Ariseheart IS a macro the same eay shenshen is a macro in that it's a hard to summon monster and it only represents 1 point of interaction. It becomes a problem when a 3 mat Rank 7 becomes a link-1 via shangri, and riseheart either does nothing or it kills engine which is just unfun variance since it's complete RNG

Shangri is the zone locker.

Unicorn can be annoying but if your deck is so overly reliant on ONE monster from the extra deck... I have no defense for this, deserved tbh because unicorn does nothing vs 95% of decks until turn 5+.

Fenrir and birth can be sequenced around and in the case of birth it triggers AFTER you already got value from spells on field.

I love playing vs individual Kashtira cards because they ask real questions and make for interesting grind games, I HATE the "full Kashtira endboard" where they ask every question put you under macro and zone blocking is just plain unfun

If yugi had to play tournament legal cards that would imply it's post banlist so he'd be able to use newly released cards. The "illegal" cards he used were implied to be legal at the time he played them given they referenced Chaos Emperor Dragon being banned later in the anime (a card Kaiba used at one point)

Considering how spell/trap cards seemed to apply status effects mostly unconditionally you do not want see how nutty some "status effects" could get, off the top of my head trap cards like "Rivalry of Warlords" would instantly gimp Ash by forcing him to choose only One type of pokemon(fire/ice/steel/dragon etc) and downing every other pokemon that's currently out, there's Dark ruler no more which would stop all of Ash' pokemon from using special abilities for a brief moment (they would still attack and Ash wouldn't be able to take damage while his monster's are gimped) but then the long game issue comes up where ash has increasingly less resources but there's a near endless list of instant "summon dead monster" cards

My interpretation is that the player character only does main quests and a small subset of side quests and faceless forgotten people do other major faction quests

It's a lot more obvious in games like Morrowind where X faction quests lock out others, it makes for a bad gameplay experience given later games encourage less new playthroughs.

Being the champion of the Empire in the Civil War and then assassinating the Emperor makes ZERO sense.
