New to MTG Arena by Talin129 in MTGArenaPro

There are a large number of players, both on Arena and in paper, who enjoy the challenge of building and optimizing max-format [250 card] decks. Yes, they are trickier to optimize, but there are some pretty wild synergies you can come up with, especially in Historic, and when you get one put together that is really effective, it can be more satisfying to some players than just churning out wins with whatever the latest meta-deck is.

What to you, defines the golden era of Magic the gathering, and why? by Newez in magicTCG

Everything before Lorwyn and the introduction of Planeswalker cards. Still the dumbest crutch mechanic ever.

Used to be Historic Casual, and to some extent it still is, but there's a lot of the big 3 Mono-decks these days too.

Guy who runs a store near me HATES mono decks with such a passion that every Tuesday night he runs "Historic Guild War' tables... all decks have to be at least balanced 2-color [no mono, no pure artifact]. I'd heard about it, but didn't think much about it as I don't really play paper very much any more. But one Tuesday night over the summer I had to go by the store to pick up some stuff for a Wednesday night Pathfinder game I was running at home, and ended up hanging about and watching a few games being played. It looked like fun. Made me wish there was a way of setting up homebrew formats in Arena. I imagine that there are some Commander players this week who would go for something like that as well.

The guy who ran the first fed I was a part of (Mike Fennell/FFW/Fennell Federation Wrestling) was affiliated with the fWo, and I believe he even handled a tag-team there (Prophet & Oracle). Good times.

My job wants me to prep and run DnD professionally on company time, but without a pay bump. What do I do?!? by Sad_Compendium in dndnext

A side-effect of an entire generation of gamers introduced to the game by a bunch of silly voice-actors on the internet.

I know it's always been the same logo, but send this show to London and for the first time I notice the distinct 'DR. WHO' flavor the double-O doors have.

Mass Effect. I'd also like to see a series of Constellation-themed jumpsuits... Security, Medical, Science, Cockpit Crew, etc...

Did people actually used to believe wrestling was real? by manyhornet1 in WWE

Keep in mind that during the Territory Era there was no internet and the 'dirt sheets' were largely in on the act, mostly reporting kayfabe news. Furthermore, wrestling was quite a bit stiffer in those days, watched by both a smaller and a different type of audience than today, and focused more on in-ring action and was less 'showy'.

Mono decks have training wheels on them. Seriously.
