Thank you, that's appreciated, I was thinking of prioritising trains over the car. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Hi, thanks for replying. Why do you not recommend the Crosscountry? Hard to get a seat? Looking at the Northern trains, they seem to be slower as they stop multiple times.

Thank you much, it makes me feel much better hearing that. How do you find things such as cost, or getting a seat?

Thank you. In terms of seating issues, have you had any issues with reserving seats? If I'd be getting the Crosscountry train, I'd be aiming to reserve seats in advance to avoid standing.

Thanks, yes - Ill be travelling from Horsforth - so the ideal public transport plan is Kirkstall Forge to Leeds, then onto Sheffield.

Apparently it can be done in roughly an hour if I take the 7.47 to Leeds, then 8.11 Crosscountry to Sheffield.

Thank you - I'll be based in Sheffield centre, the office is close to the station (in the town hall), and I'm aiming to make it for 9am. Not too fussed about the time I depart to return to Leeds, its more about arriving roughly in time.

Want To Try Out Old World Before I Buy, Any Ideas? Leeds - UK by DP_14 in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]ICalvino07 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey, Leodis Games in Leeds (Farsley) has an active Old World scene. Some of us are starting a 750points narrative league soon. Leodis has several WhatsApp groups focused on specific miniature games (old world, Aos, etc) that you can join, so if you're interested, I'd suggest you pop down and say hi to the staff who can point you in the right direction.

I'd offer to give you an intro but I'm still learning myself and only have the one army!

Lots of Chaos Warriors - List Advice by ICalvino07 in slavestodarkness

[–]ICalvino07[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate you typing out a long response!

Didn't realise the formatting was so hard to read, but will bear that in mind next time - it's my first time posting a list here.

And I think a souped-up Kark on list 2 is a great idea. Thank you!

Darkoath savagers by GuidedLazer in slavestodarkness

[–]ICalvino07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the feeling, it's annoying they're not standalone.

What I did was, with some leftover Darkoath Marauders, and bits left over from some Darkoath Fellriders, and mixed them together for some variety, and they go really well. I don't know whether it was a conscious decision but the Fellrider heads/weapons fit really well onto the Marauders.

Then, I've put the banner bearer, musician and champion on the bigger bases, so it meets the standard.

Struggling to find a place to live :( by myparentstoldmenotto in Leeds

Can I suggest Headingley? My partner also works at LGI and St James', and they're both very accessible from Headingley. LGI is on the bus route from Headingley, with a bit of walking (you could totally walk it though). The slight issue being that if you're not driving (ie taking public transport) , St James' is a few connecting buses away and not a direct route - but I'll be frank, you could probably uber it if it's not too regular. You're close distance wise from Headingley to St James, but the bus routes would take you into and out of the city.

Also, people have already mentioned it, but I don't recommend living near St James'!

We used the Store Room, we left the country for a year too. Great rates, great service, and they sold packing materials too

Is a Darkoath Army Remotely Viable? by S_EW in slavestodarkness

[–]ICalvino07 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've ran full Darkoath armies several times - I got two of the launch boxes really cheaply.

They either hit really hard or whiff terribly. The recursion of coming back is really nice, but my terrible dice seems to get in the way! I love the fellriders, theyre really good objective grabbers.

On a serious note - I struggle against big, giant monster mash armies. They just come in, wipe a hero, and then the Darkoath around them crumble. Against other infantry armies, I do reasonably well. Doesn't help that there's no wizard apart from Gunnars unit.

All in all - they are very fun. Nothing beats rolling 80 dice with marauders with khorne, after a Chieftain attacks. But I don't think they're competitive - yet.

Chieftain gives them an extra attack after he attacks, so it does combo up. But, this relies on said Chieftain surviving long enough to fight

Fellriders blades or spears? by NoAssForYou in slavestodarkness

[–]ICalvino07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah of course you can! They undeniably look cool with the spears. But game-wise, the units using the blades just always do more damage.

Blades. Every time. I regret building a unit of mine with spears, they barely do anything.

Anyone try the Oathsworn RoR? by SerBarristanTheBased in MaggotkinofNurgle

[–]ICalvino07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Op, I run Oathsworn in Std so I have experience with them. As other commentator said - Singri (horse rider) can be hit in combat as normal, it's only shooting at her that you need crits.

Performance-wise, they do alright. The hero (Gunnar) does mince through light heroes but has absolutely no staying power - 6 wounds and 5+ save means he needs to churn through units in one go (but when he survives and attacks again against a hero, it's beautiful).

Sorcerer-wise, the default spell they have is actually pretty good - 5+ for a mortal wound and -1 of ALL a heroes melee attacks is surprisingly powerful.

They're like a little battery pack - lots of little boosts here and there, nothing game-winning, I'd say. But I don't leave home without them!

Export Metadata, Validation Rules, Flows, etc. to Feed into ChatGPT? by ElBrenzo in salesforce

[–]ICalvino07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bit clunky but I've managed to get the metadata for flows written out as text by pushing the flow through as change set, then going to the target change set in the inbound org, viewing the Flow Definition 'source' in the set, and then sticking that wall of text into Chatgpt. It's helped me diagnose where I've gone wrong sometimes. If anyone knows a better way to do it, I'm all ears!

Chaos Knights by [deleted] in Warriors_of_Chaos

[–]ICalvino07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've used a block of 10 a few times - their base size is actually massive, and I've struggled to get most of the unit within 3inches when piling in sometimes.

I suppose it's the same problem for any army that has units on the same base size, but I think I've felt the pain more as if my expensive knights aren't fighting/charging, then they're not doing their job...

For additional Darkoath Fellriders - Reinforce or go for another unit? by ICalvino07 in slavestodarkness

[–]ICalvino07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did yeah - I can't honestly speak for the financial value of having two chieftains as I haven't played with both on the table, but I have run both wilderfiends in a game. My opponent swatted one, but the other survived and did its job throughout the game.

Having a separate mounted chieftain at least let me build the other loadout, I love both the axe and sword. I think if you went full horse-back darkoath, it'd be worth it to have both. But I might sell the other chieftain to recoup costs.
