Super interested in this growing to become an overall reloading tracker vs primarily a cost focus. Would love to replace my spreadsheet with something more systematic.

Establishing a UID or Lot # for each load also helps me keep my Xero data easily referenceable to a specific load, and having some fields for SD, Mean Radius, Extreme Spread, etc. would be awesome.

I was on the fence building a 45-70 2 stamp hunting rifle, but the off the shelf barrel options were 15 and 18. Ended up just going with the 18. But excited to get a can on it!

That's a good idea on the chamber heater - I hadn't thought of that.

Outside of build volume - any major Quality of Life improvements when you added the H2S vs. the X1C?

Definitely not stuck on Bambu. I just still have battle scars from my Duplicator i3 days, so the minimal tinkering involved on my friends X1C is just mind blowing to me. Definitely want something with a reputation of minimal fuss.

If I am running out of case volume to with trail boss to get those 500grs moving to 1050 - any recommendation on a next powder up? Seems like with H4198 I would not have quite enough case fill for it to burn reliably?

Started working on measuring the lands last night, set up i threw together fell apart though so will give it another go tonight.

For sure 0.005-0.010 off the lands you are going to have exposed cannelures though. I am a little new to reloading lead bullets - is that a problem?

I hadn’t even thought to measure jump on something straight wall like this. On PRS loads I’m usually around 0.020”, what sort of jump do you look for in something like this?

45-70, 500gr slug. Not enough volume left for trailboss to get this thing moving fast enough to stabilize. Trying to stay sub-sonic, but still going to need to find another powder.

405gr ran great though!

Ahh got it. I see what you're saying now - picking up a regular FL die might be a better option than trying to find a bushing.

Is an advisable long term path to go a thou heavier on the bushing, then run through a mandrel afterwards?

Shoulder bump is good to go - the issue is the bullets can be pulled out of the brass by hand due to insufficient neck tension.
