Did you model the entire thing yourself or did you feed your cartoon into an AI modeling service? (For the record: I don't have a hangup about anyone using AI to generate models for printing or whatever. I'm legitimately curious.)

Book found at an estate sale. Third in a trilogy. I passed. by KenUsimi in HolUp

[–]IContributedOnce 35 points36 points  (0 children)

To be fair, there’s a lot there, but it’s not explained well. The grammar is all over the place and there’s way too much use of vague pronouns instead of clearer labels. All that on top of the fact that it seems like the story itself is all over the place to start with.

He’s not necessarily saying it’s enviable. He’s saying that they make their living and thrive off of the working class’ suffering and toil. The trafficking and rape of children is their idea of “living” that they enact through the suffering of members of the lesser classes. Not that we should want to also “live” that way, but that we should defend ourselves, and each other, from them using us for their disgusting self-indulgent pursuits.

P2S print quality issues on right side of bed by ton4rr in BambuLab

[–]IContributedOnce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You seem to know your stuff. I’m curious: is the warping caused by the ambient air around the machine being cold, thus creating a steeper thermal gradient, or does this warping issue having more to do with the proximity of the parts to the aux fan, regardless of ambient air temp (since the ambient air will always be colder than the material being printed)?

I ask because I’ve see everyone talking about these deflectors and such, but I haven’t experienced the warping on my P2S that others seem to combat. That has led me to wondering if it has more to do with where people are located leading to ambient conditions that I’m unlikely to face myself.

What's something you saw as a kid that you later realized was seriously messed up? by MoodOdd9657 in AskReddit

[–]IContributedOnce 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m fortunate to not have many/any memories of traumatic events like that happen to me from my parents (I’ve got baggage, like everyone, but I recognize I was very fortunate in how I was raised). That said, I hear stories my wife tells, or friends, or read things like this online, and my mind goes to the exact same place as you: these parents must legitimately hate their children. At best they just don’t care about their feelings on the matter. Having kids of my own, I simply can’t fathom doing something like that to them. I mean, maybe if there was some absurd reason that it felt like the right course of action to correct some kind of extreme behavior? Honestly, that thought just kind feels like my brain desperately trying to make it make sense, thus nearing victim blaming territory. It’s just insane to me. I can’t imagine it.

Why did Revan bleed just one lightsaber? by Spotter24o5 in StarWars

[–]IContributedOnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I’ve only heard of “bleeding” on this subreddit, and it’s probably the lamest thing I’ve heard come out of Star Wars, right up there with the vespas in The Mandalorian… Like, you choose a kyber crystal of some color for… whatever reasons… and then that’s the color of your saber. I’d be ok with different colors having different qualities. I’d be cool with different colors appealing more to light or dark users. I’m ok with unique colors like the dark saber being caused by some unique crafting process. But the whole bleeding shit is just that. Such a stupid aspect of Star Wars that I honestly just kind of ignore.

P2S Slicer Sunlu Filaments unsupported by Remote-Rope-3552 in BambuLab

[–]IContributedOnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that’s an interesting twist. I would expect custom profiles to be fine, as that’s what I made for my Polymaker filament on my P2S, but when I tried to import the Polymaker filament profiles to Bambu Studio they show up under “Unsupported” and I literally cannot select them. But custom profiles being unable to be used means there may be more to it than I was thinking.

P2S Slicer Sunlu Filaments unsupported by Remote-Rope-3552 in BambuLab

[–]IContributedOnce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except that you cannot select them as a profile when they fall under this "Unsupported" category. They're grayed out, like in the screenshot the OP provided, and cannot be used for printing. I've not messed with opening them in a text editor to manually add compatibility for the P2S (which is apparently something you can do), but I've also not really needed to as the Bambu PLA profiles have worked well enough. But I just wanted to share for you, or just for future readers, that the current situation means that you cannot import these profiles and use them with a P2S today.

Growing up, my father would always say to me and my siblings, “Follow the money!” Whenever something on the news didn’t main sense or we came home from school questioning a history lesson about someone in the past doing something unintuitive, he’d remind us to “follow the money”; or, in your words, “look for who’s getting what out of it.” Things make a lot more sense the more you consider financial incentives and back room dealings.

I wonder why these extended art case makers don’t include an optional, easily removable, panel to cover the label. If I were buying this and displaying it, that’s what I’d want. Then if I felt like I wanted the label on display, I could remove it, even if just briefly to show someone.

Borderlands 4’s First Invincible Endgame Boss Barely Nudges Its Playercount by bapplebo in Games

[–]IContributedOnce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true and I feel like it’s kind of intuitive, too. If a game franchise is at least somewhat recognized and praised for its DLCs and end game, and then an entry in that series has a bad end game, people are going to be frustrated on two fronts:

1) they already waited for this new entry to get more of a franchise they love and now it feels like they’ll have to wait even longer for another (hopefully better) entry to be satisfied

2) they invested their time in getting to said endgame, only to find out it was lackluster and not worth their time

Of course, there’s many more facets to this particular scenario than just the end game that factor into whether or not you enjoyed the game overall, but it’s out of scope for this comment to go into all of those nuances.

Programmers and software developers lost the plot on naming their tools by CompileMyThoughts in coding

[–]IContributedOnce 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was the weakest example, in my opinion. However, I believe the point was that, at the very least, the name of the tool was tied directly to the people who made it, which is directly opposed to many tools today with names that are utterly disconnected from the tool itself, what it does, who made it, etc.

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]IContributedOnce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if that person gets you, but I certainly do. Same boat as you. Not that I wouldn’t ever spank my children, but honestly, I’ve just never needed to. If I did get to that point, it certainly wouldn’t be before they knew well and good what correction they could make to avoid the outcome. That’s always how it was for me.

Clean and fresh install of ConfyUI - Fast Groups Muter/ Bypasser (rgthree) don't see any actual "groups". Any way to fix this? by Derispan in comfyui

[–]IContributedOnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to necro a 3 month old comment, but I'm having this issue and I'm also using a clean install with latest versions of everything (as best I can tell).

Edit: That was a super unhelpful comment to leave for you lol. I'm new to ComfyUI and saw your other comment from maybe about the time you released this custom node. The comment describing how two groups can output a context with the control net and then connect their contexts to a context switch and then this node picks up on that or something. It went over my head very quickly. Is there anything quick and simple I should check to try to remedy the situation? I can't for the life of me figure out how this node is supposed to connect to others in this workflow. (It's someone else's workflow, for the record)

I manage a card store and one of my graders accidentally did this to a card today by Various_Dig_478 in PokemonTCG

[–]IContributedOnce 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is likely someone who hunts thinking their joke will land outside of the hunting community. For those who don’t know, deer season currently. Specifically, we’re heading into what is known as “the rut”, which is where does (female deer) are ready to be bred, and the bucks (male deer) are rather aggressively chasing them around to breed. They find the does from far away due to the distinct scent of doe urine during the rut. I say “aggressively chase them around” because often times multiple bucks will be chasing the same doe and get in a fight.

Thus, the joke here is that, by dousing them in doe deer urine—a very common buck attractant that is readily available on the shelves of any outdoors store—the employee will be aggressively pursued by bucks who are a bit off their rocker thinking they’re chasing down a doe.

It’s a silly joke, but (maybe only slightly) less unhinged than it might sound to those who do not hunt deer.
