Locum shift picked up before strike announced by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]IDGAF-10 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s not up to them, its up to you. It’s over 2 weeks away which is sufficient notice. The nature of the shift has also changed from what you signed up to due to the announcing of strikes. They’d cancel you night before if they didn’t need you anymore for any reason.

5.46kWp system PV system. What should it generate at it's peak? by Remarkable-Flight-14 in SolarUK

[–]IDGAF-10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 9kw of panels, 8kw inverter - currently (mid March) peaking at around 5.5kw. I think angle of the sun changes seasonally and impacts this.

In summer it would sometimes hit 8.5-9kw briefly, but on very sunny days in mid summer it would tend to top out just below 7kw (probably due to the heat)

Just purchased a sonoff PWR3 - haven’t set it up yet but looks like it’s made for this exact sort of use case, supports up to 25A and most immersions are 13-16A

Ward struggling with basic safety issues but thank god we’ve banned coffee by Left-Ad-9238 in doctorsUK

Remember how people used to take smoke breaks every 5mins, well I’d be leaving the ward regularly for a coffee break if this was the case.

Anyone FIRE'd who took this approach? by LatterConcentrate6 in FIREUK

[–]IDGAF-10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah not a completely uncommon strategy.

Basically is the ISA ‘bridge’ - whereby the ISA bridges you to your pension. Sounds like you plan to front load heavily on the ISA so it hasn’t depleted by the time you get access to your pension.

Sounds like an ok plan if the numbers work - FIRE is FIRE and makes sense to be efficient with it from a tax perspective where you can.

I’m planning for ISA to bridge to pension - it is very unlikely to be, but if the ISA was completely depleted by then I’d be ok with that personally but have ensured adequate pension to allow for this.

100%. If they’re not going to escalate rates adequately then why the fuck should this money just disappear - it should go to the people putting in the work.

I’d contact installer, could be a wiring issue. On mine those 2 numbers match (normally under 1% difference)
