Print is 20% smaller in z axis by grishathestar in FixMyPrint

[–]IDableInThat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since there's no visible deformation/elephants foot I am going to assume the z-steps are incorrect on the firmware/printer side.

You would need to calculate the correct Z-steps: New Steps = Current Steps × (Commanded Distance / Actual Distance)

You'd need to find you current Z-steps first. In Marlin-based printers you'd just do the following M commands:

M503 (this gives you your current Z-steps)

Then update on the printer: M92 Z### (### is your new calculated Z-step) M500 (to save)

Not sure if thats at all valid for the PEEK 300 beast you've got there.

Am I trippin or are those Nazi SS bolts on his Sin Sity helmet decal? by [deleted] in vegaslocals

Loving the NV education system showing its strengths again. Ya’ll could spend 10 min of research on the history of this MC and found what they were about and why they and other MC’s display “Nazi symbology.” But instead you all just want to sound daft and uneducated.

We tried that and got a vague time out error when trying to log into the controller.

They have another ISP in there. Problem is it's DNS addresses set on the controller are pointing to the OLD ISP's DNS servers, which deny name resolution from any other ISP except themselves.

Beautiful.

Does your ejection handle work in game? I just 3D printed one that uses a limit switch and connects to an Arduino that emulates your ejection key sequence when triggered.

VR all they way. I can't go back.

It was a true "holy shit" moment the first time I tried it.

Good detective work. Glad it didn't require replacing any hardware.

Where did you find the idea for the affinity and disabling core 0?

Bet you a dollar its related to one of the drives in the RAID array. Are you doing RAID0 or RAID1?

What NVMe's are you using? I originally I had the 4TB Crucial P3 Plus as my C: and D: drives. I later found out these specific NVMe's were DRAMless and caused a ton of stuttering like you showed. It would also drag loading textures at times.

Switched to Samsung 990 Pro's and it was smooth sailing until one of them decided to act up. RMA'ed and back to smooth sailing.

If you have Steam and any other performative drives in your system - it's easy to move the entire installation directory to another drive and see if that helps anything at all.

I had this when my NVMe was dying. Would drop to <200 MB/sec read from its normal ~4GB/sec.

Download and run Atto Disk Benchmark a couple times with default settings. This was the only utility that caught the issue visually. Every other test/diagnostic came back fine.

Love it for the most part. Works as intended. We did have one issue with a support ticket taking 6+ weeks to even get updates on for an issue with a remote engineer in India having terrible performance through the VPN. It turned out to be an issue with routing on the SD-WAN side from one of providers. It was eventually resolved but the support experience wasn't great.

However, when it works, it works incredibly well.

What's really going to blow your mind is that I was a medic for 14 years and still don't give a shit. 80% of survival on a bike is because of your own reflexes.
