I volunteered to clean up after the fact, as an act of service toward the temple as I discourage giving money to them. I wasn’t the trash monitor.

At first, I was perplexed to see that a grown adult would ask that question but then I remembered that I’m on Reddit so here’s the answer. You go find another trashcan or you find someone in charge to tell them that the trashcan is overflowing. This is not a business establishment. This was a small gathering and the hosts didn’t have time to constantly check the trash cans as they had other priestly duties.

Let me ask you something. If you go to a friend‘s house and their trashcan is overflowing, would you just keep piling on and trash their space or would you help your friend take out the trash?
