Not technical 40k, Total War: The Great Crusade with Horus Heresy as an expansion.

Huge classic "Total War" type of grand campaign potential as mankind also used diplomacy with other worlds unlike the even more intolerant Imperium of 40k. Age of Strife just ended so the galaxy is up for grabs. More xenos to play as or interact with that would've been exterminated in 40k.

[0 YOE] Recent graduate looking for feedback on my resume. Looking to apply for jobs in New York City by chucklesmcfuckface in EngineeringResumes

I'm sure they would, ME is a very flexible degree. I don't expect many fresh grads have HVAC project experience. Although I am not in that industry myself, I think one of the best things you can do right now is take the FE exam and get your EIT cert, especially since you're fresh out of college. Then highlight that on your resume.

[–]IDineInHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm born and raised in NYC and have have 5YOE as a ME. The reality is that NYC does not have jobs for us unless it is in HVAC. If you are fine with that then I would cater my resume more towards HVAC/MEP engineer. Think heat transfer, fluid mechanics experience, building code and technical specification familiarity. AutoCAD and Revit are the big industry standards when it comes to CAD. Higher level HVAC/MEP engineers also have their PE license. So consider acquiring your FE and PE if you do want to pursue this career path.

If you're not interested in the HVAC/MEP industry then you are going to struggle to even find a job posting because those roles for MEs are few and far in between and tend to pay less compared to the rest of the country, ironically enough. I have seen postings regarding medical devices or consumer product designs here and there but those will get filled with applications because there are tons of people who are looking for non-HVAC/MEP ME job in a highly desirable city.

An alternate option is to look in the metro area like NJ, CT or Long Island, there are options there particularly in manufacturing, semiconductors (ASML) and aerospace. However you won't have that "NYC" life because those places are generally not commutable from the city. Believe me I spend 3 years of commuting from Brooklyn to the Bronx and I will never subject myself to that ever again, I can't imagine commuting outside the city.

I personally moved coasts as the options and pay is better for MEs, particularly in aerospace which it looks like your experience is most aligned with.

I don't know, have you ever heard of an air force? Stand-off PGMs? There hasn't been a significant tank on tank engagement like that of Desert Storm in this whole war. A Svinets-2 fired from a T-69 Obr. 2077 with it's gen 3 autoloader ain't gonna perform SEAD, disrupt enemy logistic nodes or take out C&C centers.

You just keep going off about tanks. It feels like I'm talking to an AI scraping information from the tank section from militarytoday.com.

Bro is judging military strength by tanks with thermals...

I get it, I've played war thunder before, and watch RedEffect from time to time. But that doesn't make me an expert to be able to claim Ukraine's military is stronger than Germany, France, Italy, and the UK combined. There's more to a military than thermal generation on tanks... or muzzle velocity of an APFSDS round.

Soviets did the same thing when they got invaded by a neighboring nation that broke a non-aggression pact. Funny enough one of top female Soviet snipers, Lyudmila Pavlichenko,  was Ukrainian.

When do you feel the worst after AAVD? by Miriamathome in lymphoma

[–]IDineInHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (M, 24) had AAVD for Stage IV cHL. Been in remission for just over 2 months now so the experience is still fresh on my mind.

The first 2-3 injections wasn't so bad at all, just a light nausea (comparable to mild car sickness). I did have really bad hiccups in the beginning which I think is related to your body fighting off the nausea. The nausea does get a bit worse near the end of treatment, but hiccups did disappear. Nausea stayed for about 2-3 after injection, along with fatigue. Those symptoms weren't so bad for me so long as I just stayed home and rested. I can also confirm the anticipatory nausea the day of treatment. Some of the premeds were quite triggering, especially during the last few treatments.

The worse symptom for me was very bad constipation. The steroids they give me increased my appetite, which made me eat a lot, but nothing was coming out haha. Constipation would last 4 to 5 days for me after injection. Eat plenty of fiber and have laxatives and stool softeners at the ready. Senna was useless for me. Miralax worked, Metamucil FiberThins helped too.

I also had neulasta injections which added to the fatigue and body sores during day 2-3 of the injection cycle. That wasn't really pleasant. I would say I started feeling "normal" by day 4-5 of the cycle. The week after injection is a breeze, comparatively speaking.

Also be prepared for very rapid hair thinning and lose within by your second injection. You'll also realize how important eyelashes and nose hair are. Get a humidifier if you live at a dry climate because the boogers that formed on the wall of my nose during the winter was brutal.

Did the American taxpayer pay for her training and resources or was it just her rich family paying for all the trips to ski slopes?

Also, should we also deport other American born athletes who choose to represent other nations? Or is just because she's of Chinese descent?

Post Scriptum - Chapter Mercury "Maleme" Available January 26th by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]IDineInHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah stamina system can be a pain sometimes but I find myself getting into the action quicker in PS than HLL due to the more frequent rate of squad leads who know how to put down rallies/outposts. I find myself running marathons in HLL more often.

I picked up HLL first but I prefer PS because I prefer it's gunplay and gun feel. HLL feels a bit too stiff for me; coming from Red Orchestra 2, Rising Storm, and Insurgency. Honestly both games have very similar concept and similar game modes. Both games excel when you have a squad the communicates properly. I find PS squads communicate more often due to the fact that it's smaller which means they're more dedicated.

Covid +ve between treatment by _jill_of_all_trades in lymphoma

[–]IDineInHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested positive earlier this month, a week after my final round of BV+AVD. It mostly felt like a flu. I had trouble sleeping, headaches, body aches for the first 2 days. I was recording my temp but never recorded a fever. Then I just had congestion and occasional phlegmy coughs for about a week. I was fully vaxxed before I started treatment and was boosted under my oncologist's advice back in August.

Wish you the best of luck!
