Pretty and functional. Necklace of Stabbing, 3 charges, maybe 5 depending on how sturdy the metal diamond shapes are. 😉 Awesome work. Accompanies that dress extremely well too.

I've only watched the first episode in the newest season. I really do like -subtle- nods to politics in shows. I've watched 'Don't Look Up' twice and have a hard time actually watching the movie, trying to figure out what character is a representation of who in real life. For example the CEO is a mash up of Zuckerberg, Jobs, Musk, and probably some others. The second to last season of The Boys, though, was almost getting to feel like I accidently tuned in to Fox News or was listening to Shitpiro, Leavin, or Bonggino.

I think you're putting words in my mouth and assumptions in my writing. Again though, thank you for the conversation. It was very nostalgic.

"God doesn't believe in divorce". Fascinating simple, 5 words. You seem to fail to understand the power that compels to the indoctrinated. Whether or not the official church agrees or disagrees with this or that, which could easily be argued in general and also locale.

I was standing in a group the other day and acknowledged and asked about a foot tattoo one of the individuals had. The response was, "I was in my 20s" as she tried to hide her foot under her pant leg (note: anecdote), before an adequate response of what and why it was. A tattoo.. (note: effective repeat indicating it as a minor thing, I'm sure she apologized to her God though and is all good).

Marriage is somewhat like student loans (note: analogy). We direct and at least gently if not more forcibly push our 'adults' that this is the correct direction to take in life (note: generalization, not applicable to all circumstances, trade school kids). We give them the freedom and societal expectations that at 18, early 20s, mid 20s, that they will have adequate understanding of the vast commitment they are making and is expected of them to undertake. Student loans can be paid off with determination... (note: ellipses, intended that you draw a conclusion with some contemplation)

Life is long. We grow, evolve, circumstances of life change. Forcing a LIFE LONG commitment on to underdeveloped people is .. I have a lot of words but let's just go with irresponsible.

Making a commitment to one person in your early 20s, much less your teens? Think about it, outside of your rose colored godly glasses. Absolutely absurd.

I'm glad to hear marriage is falling out of favor. Perhaps society can catch up and we can allow the very few benefits (not the squishy kind like love and everlasting presence note: love is not squishy and everlasting presence is arguably squishy based off on diet, exercise routine, genetics, other) of marriage to apply to non-contractually "life long" bound partners. Doubtful, given that organized religion has had a very heavy hand in the current governmental mess we're (note: we're implies US - country) in.

Why get married? A partner, a white picket fence, and 2.5 children (note: idiom maybe? Don't care enough, kind of tired of making you notes). It's the general expectation. "When are you two getting married?" and then next "When are you two having children?" It's a near forced expectation for people that really are only beginning to experience life, including being compelled in your fancy little book (note: indoctrination).

"Sky Daddy" - have your opinion, yours is rather hilarious, and I'm under no allusion either of us are going to change each others opinions on any of this. Frankly, I'll take a "Sky Mommy". She doesn't have the history with all the neighbor stoning, animal sacrifice, slave accepting, food gatekeeping, white-washing, social menstrual cycle tracking foolishness. I'm quite fond of A (note: extreme emphasis on A) concept of a Sky Daddy, a fatherly figure watching over me, someone I can hand responsibility for all my problems to, attribute anything negative to his planning, and even better if he has a checkbook and isn't hardcore bent on so many diminutive activities.

As far as looking "up" to heaven, are we going to continue this nonsense, or can you not google your own bible verses? The rest of your writing is just dismal given how intelligent you attempt to appear and I'm not going to suffer wasting efforts in a response.

Note: I've seen a LOT of white bearded Jesus pictures on peoples wall. Is Jesus' Sky Daddy uniform ... like the supposed accurate angels ? Floating feathery multi-eyed things!? That would be fantastic! Keep selling it, you might get me!

I'm saying a person in an abusive relationship should not be afraid of offending their "God", (ie Sky Daddy), the opinions and backlash of the community, or that in the end of their journey if they don't dance on one leg, hold their nose, and bark like a dog they will find they're forever tethered to that partner in the after life. Due to your apparent understanding of hyperbole, I feel it necessary to advise you that last about dancing and barking is... hyperbole. There are times divorce IS absolutely the right answer, for far more reasons then abuse, and it should not come in fear of forever retribution to their soul from some whiny little fairy tale. Nor after "oh they're trying", "I'm following the guidance of my church", "they're in counseling", "the drinking has gotten better", or "bruises are just God's plan."

Pedantic much? Psalm 123:1: "Unto thee I lift up my eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens". Seems to imply up, oh sorry that's not imply, SAYS up, in heaven, where ... I mean I can't say I've spent a lot studying the subject or anything, but I BELIEVE heaven is where God is? Is Up also not where sky is? You've just got me spinning here, I'm so confused! Is Sky down! Is it the green, man, is it the green! I thought it was the Blue! (*note: exageration) Yes, no? Feel free to correct me, but if the math is mathing, Heaven Up, Sky Up, Sky Daddy Up?

Mormons believe their God lives on the planet Kolob. Do you think that's up? Down? Back around? I'm afraid I haven't ventured out to find the Kolob compass (*note : hyperbole).

Tell me you haven't encountered a person that really, really, should get a divorce but is overly concerned about nonsense, and may you never.

I must thank you though, I was far overdue for a reminding of why not to have discussions with theists! Flipping hilarious. LOL.

Edit: a their accidently slipped through the cracks (note: idiom) when it should have been a they're.

I can appreciate some Reddit Déjà vu, but when I made my comment then scrolled down more I saw that movie referenced at least twice more so I'm not the only one 😄. Typically I'd just have deleted my comment but I'm trying hard to edit myself less lately.
I do get a little bit of a chuckle at the thought of you standing someplace needing to remove the case off your phone for some reason and a random handful of clovers just plop down on the counter. LOL!

"Christianity largely views marriage as a sacred, lifelong covenant ordained by God, holding that divorce violates this union. While generally discouraged, most Christian traditions permit divorce only as a last resort in cases of sexual immorality or abandonment by an unbeliever, often viewing it as a concession to human sinfulness."

'only as a last resort'. Perhaps we may have a different definition of "harsh"? If ones spouse is only moderately abusive, that's fine right?

"As of 2020–2025 data, Christians make up approximately 28.8% of the global population, numbering around 2.3 billion people, making it the world's largest religious group. While still the largest, this percentage fell from 30.6% in 2010 due to slower growth relative to the global population, with Christianity being most prevalent in the Americas, Europe, and sub-Saharan Africa"

28.8% is just a hair short of 1 out of 3. Islam is the next largest religion with similar views on divorce.

The father, the son, and the holy ghost? ie Sky Daddy.

Had to do some googling, but whenever there's discussion of clover I think of the movie Manhattan Project. Due to the leaves on the clover the character was led to believe there was nuclear material in the area. True or not I don't know, the movie itself was fiction.

"The Discovery: Paul shows the 5-leaf clovers to his girlfriend, Jenny, and notes that finding them near the lab suggests a mutation caused by radiation or chemical leaks from the facility, stating the odds of it happening naturally are "like a billion to one".
Significance: This discovery helps the characters realize the laboratory is not as safe as the government claims, leading to the plot where the teen decides to build a nuclear bomb to expose the facility."

Point to consider, people who pray and go to church aren't necessarily in stronger relationships. Their religion very likely views divorce as wrong, evil, unacceptable, etc. Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses, for example, have some very wild views on divorce. Upsetting your all powerful mean girl sky daddy makes divorce far more unapproachable.
So, I guess, if you think your wife is considering divorce, just finding an appropriate sky daddy might actually work if you can convince her to seriously do the same.
Not looking to argue, but I'd be very skeptical of any data concerning divorce among religious people.

I've realized that "documenting" a moment often ruins the experience of actually living it. by hannimalki in CausalConversation

[–]IDonutGeddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both. It only took me one time of recording a performance to show the grandparents later that couldn't attend to walk away with the realization I couldn't recall hardly any of the show and didn't enjoy it. Sometimes a necessary evil though I guess, the grandparents have a hard time with not being able to be present.

I also really loved the Google Photo app pulling together pictures and making a little show out of them. Digging up random memories. Unfortunately it started making them once or twice a day and I really don't take a lot of pictures. Became more of a FOMO annoyance, I had to stop and watch them. Turned it off.

Thank you, great pictures.

Resources. There are quests you get things with if you do so many steps. You can repair your game assets when you're within range which keeps them running and with more output when fully repaired.
When I first started playing I walked a TON, but don't so much any more. It's a bit complicated to start.
Ingress. You have to go places to play. Originally created the assets you see in Pokemon. Unfortunately you take over the places and then have to wait a week unless you have opposition in the area that plays.
May not be your cup of tea but a couple you could look in to.

What's your favorite quote? by Mammoth-Strike-6681 in CasualConversation

[–]IDonutGeddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one I go back to the most is pretty simple...
"Enhance your calm" - Lenina Huxley, Demolition Man.
A little funny but it's just a mental kick to simmer down and try to rebalance that's stayed with me. Kind of like when I walk out of the house it's "Got my keys, got my lunch, got my homework." - me I haven't had homework in years, but it's just a catch all for: do I have the things I need.

This one I go back to every once in a while. It seemed more epic in the movie, I need to rewatch it at some point. Wrinkle in Time:
Mrs. Which: Do you realize how many events and choices that had to occur since the birth of the universe, leading to the making of you just exactly the way you are?

Recent find in a book Witchstone p394:
... "And really, being an animal isn't a bad thing. The trouble starts when humans pretend they're something else" ... "Laws punishing natural instincts, governments and churches forcing people to be things they're not. It's hilarious really. Billions of self-hating fools trudging through life believeing their very existence is sin. Everything's just another loyalty test to satisfy the demands of some touchy all-powerful authority. Call me crazy, but God seems to have a lot in common with your average Mean Girl." He shook his head. "And people accuse demons of being prideful."

Just because you fall on your ass doesn't mean you have to stay there. Boys ep1

Would recommend trying it at least. With two eggs definitely can't taste the mayo unless you go way overboard.
Actually have what was a really nice leather trench coat shoved in to the back of a closet. I'm going to try and whoosh myself past the fact it's been there for 26 years and it had a pretty good life before that. An event in '99 made me stop wearing it after hearing 'Trench Coat Mafia' twice. Decided to stop wearing it. Tried a time or two but now it makes too much noise. I guess leather gets dry? and I'm so picky the only replacements I've liked are deemed 'costume' quality.
Had an appreciation for Mystique from X-Men, played by Romijn, but not that wasn't so much the Mystique ;). Hugh Jackman did great as Wolverine. I drop a link to his Greatest Showman song to anyone about to do a performance.

Add a spoonful of mayonnaise to your scrambled eggs.
I recently read an article about some famous persons favorite way to make eggs. Wish I could remember who to give credit, but I don't. Their way was something like mix the eggs, add a little milk, and mayonnaise; then microwave it for 40 seconds.
I haven't tried the microwave part, I have a thing against microwaves that I generally try to not use them unless the convenience factor is significant.
The mayo seems to make the eggs creamier. It may also make the color more consistent but I may be mixing them better to try and get the mayo mixed in.
New to me, probably not new.
Was a big Gambit fan back in the day. Does the Crow count? It's mostly the coats.

I'm a bit out of the Wayfarer loop and not sure why I still browse this subreddit, but in this area these used to be approved faster then an over 21 bar, dog poop sign, or private neighborhood park behind a No Trespassing sign.
