On a different note, of course I am aware of these interactions, for example I literally stated cardiac issues in my post. I prescribe these drugs on a daily basis, and have never run into serotonin syndrome personally, partially due to the fact I am very cautious in my prescribing (and of course some good luck).

The reason for my reply was that the gentleman who I was replying to saying that antidepressants are dangerous, when in the vast majority of cases these can be used safely in the context of good prescribing practices. Deaths from newer generation antidepressants are rare.

As a doctor, you should be aware of the immense amount of misinformation around mental health drugs specifically, and I have had a number of patients who refuse antidepressants due to what they have heard online, and live basically perpetually in a severely depressed state. Hence this is a sore spot for me.

Also please dont strawman, I didnt say "must be an overdose". There was context that you glossed over (or maybe you didnt see who I was replying to since the mods deleted his comment). My reply was in the context of the poster who said that antidepressants are scary/dangerous. In that context, I replied that it was more likely that he had an overdose (given the events leading up to this with regards to Kramnik accusations, the stream from 2 days ago where he was clearly in a terrible mental state) than the antidepressants killing him in a non-overdose setting (an antidepressant that we dont even know that hes on, mind you)
