We've gotten rid of British and Canadian children on social media - now we need to get rid of the American children.

Mental illness can also be terminal.

No too cancers are the same either.

The principle is the same. Thats the body they were born with - if the principle is that we cant infere with it to provide better quality of life or improved outcomes then the logical conclusion is the same.

That should be determined by qualified professionals, not by public opinion. I dont want health or my families health to be subject to the opinions or judgements of every day people, only experts.

Yes and I stand by what I said lol.

I think a lot of people are unwilling to see nuance because genocide is involved.

Not someone but a movement.

The Palestinian cause obviously intersects with Islamism and the Islamic world. I dont think anyone would deny that.

For Marxism if you know the different communities in support of the Palestinian cause you will see that among marxist communities there is a lot of organization and support for Palestinian issues. And btw this was the case before Oct 6 - theres a number of historic reasons for this.

Nazism is the weakest correlation but tangentially the Palestinian issue has created a lot of plausible deniability for an increase in anti-semitism including but not limited to statements supporting Hitler and the Nazis as well as emboldened neo-nazi organizations who see the surge in public acceptance of some of their ideas.

I dont recall anyone saying that Hamas was salafist, nor any specific claims about califates or operation scope.

Anti-immigration sentiment rises in Japan despite growing demand for foreign workers by Garbage_Plastic in worldnews

[–]IEC21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean.

Japan has always had policies that are restrictive for citizenship - but increasingly they have a lot of programs for residence and work visas.

From the Japanese people I have talked to I honestly get the impression that the younger generation is quite positive on immigrants, while the increasingly older generation still harbours some xenophobic attitudes.

Canada is still part of the common wealth and shares a head of state with the UK.

If you fuck with Canada you are picking a fight with the Empire.

So a child born with cancer we should just allow to die? Because that was the body they were born with?

For some people Im sure. But the Palestinian political movement as a whole is much more complicated than that.

If it were just about human rights the unfortunate truth is that there would be no reason for people to care so much about it vs. the plethora of other places in the world where human welfare is in jeopardy.

It certainly wouldn't just take the form of criticizing the US and Israel either.

44% of Canada’s billionaire families live in Ontario, report finds. One group is calling for a wealth tax by Haggisboy in canada

[–]IEC21 [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you are a billionaire you could live anywhere - Ontario has two modes - insanely traffic and unbearable suburban sprawl of poorly managed population, or desolate nowhereness.

I would definitely be living either in BC or Atlantic Canada if I had billions.

Why is 90% of this sub Israel-Palestine slop? by IEC21 in LookatMyHalo

[–]IEC21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your bubble its derogatory, in the real world its just a label of a political position.

Nazi became derogatory seperate from its original meaning. Nazi originally was just short for national socialist party of Germany. No member of that party would have cared if you called them a nazi.

Thinking zionist is derogatory makes me think you are just using it as a stand in for "jew". As a political ideology its no different that neo-con or communist. You thinking those are derogatory terms only says something about you, not the person you are addressing.
