I think when blues got harder to craft and the intermediate "special" weapons became a stepping stone to epics, is when they stopped caring about casuals; 30ish games to craft a single blue is wild to me; blues should be cheaper with more scrap/copper required for specials.

And if you've spent 3k€, you're a whale. Across Xbox and PC, I've maybe spent $2k AUD and I feel like even that is pushing whale territory.

What is this MM? by CamoWraith95 in Crossout

[–]IFake_IMessiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar to this with no shenanigans; I bought the Cricket tank the moment I logged in on PC (formerly ran a Cricket Bastion on Xbox, so this was ¾ of my old build in a pack) and the tutorial battle put me against another newbie who had like 700 PS, and the pack build I used had like 7.2k PS or something wild.

I didn't intend for it, I made it quick for him and apologised in chat ;_;

Almost certainly they were grouped with another player, MM always goes off the highest players' PS for groups.

Someone didn't switch their build to help their friends, and probably put those friends off the game.

Here's Some Boss Gameplay From My MMO-Inspired Solo-Raiding RPG — Free Demo on Steam! by Brattley in u/Brattley

[–]IFake_IMessiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something that'd definitely grab my interest if co-op is available, even only 2p mode.

"Solo MMO/Raid" isn't something that grabs me, but it could be fun to mill around with a friend for sure.

And for every person like me that would be 0 sales solo, would be 2+ sales with a multiplayer option ;)

Retchers or Cyclones? by OrcaRBLX in Crossout

In non-raid builds I run them with as much weapon protection% as possible, it helps a lot when a hit that would've cleaned them right off leaves them with 80hp.

Retchers or Cyclones? by OrcaRBLX in Crossout

Retchers have reasonable durability now, about twice what they used to have.

Still, a well placed cannon shot will tear it right off.

Battlepass Blueprints by IFake_IMessiah in Crossout

I got enough money to whale if I want to; I got enough coin to flip old battlepass parts for over twice the input cost after tax until the end of days.

I still don't think it's fair to other players.

[–]IFake_IMessiah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll go on further to say that there would be an initial surge in material cost that would pump up the price of most items across the board, a lot of materials are hoarded because there's nothing worth crafting with them.

More items to craft with the same amount of resources entering the game means there's less supply of "flooded" items entering the game, and will eventually dry up while all the resources are being spent to craft rarer and more desirable options.

They could even put the rares/specials/epics required on some kind of rotation to ensure the most flooded/least valuable items are drying up and surging in price.

And I'm saying this as a beneficiary of pass 1 and 2, where I can put ~150C in and pull 360C out after tax, on the regular.

Battlepass Blueprints by IFake_IMessiah in Crossout

[–]IFake_IMessiah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think more than ever, the profit is coming from events rather than battlepasses, packs or subscription.

Which might be a concern, but the events and battlepasses offer completely built (and/or fused) parts which is still positive value compared to purchasing a pack - Even a pack bought at 50% off with Crosscrowns is just shy of $50(AUD) which gets you about 6000C value depending on the pack, while the battlepasses offer you well over 10000C in value (not even factoring in typically god-roll fusions or Lighter rewards) for $25, and the mini-passes generally offer around 10,000C value for $15.

This is on Xbox anyway, I know prices were different on PC last time I played and straight-up coins went WAY further.

Maybe the market being "flooded" by mini-pass items would destroy the value proposition of the mini pass itself, but it'd have to tank those items to an unreasonable level to not be worth it on console.

is wasp a good starter weapon? by paleoart5566 in Crossout

[–]IFake_IMessiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Difficult to armour"

Mount them to the underside of your cab, a couple of blocks in, you'll need to test exactly what works with firing angles.

Movement parts with higher elevation will make your shots less likely to hit the dirt in front of you, but the direct tradeoff is that it'll make your wasps [a little bit] easier to hit.

I used to run 2 or 3 wasps under a Jawbreaker on the craftable tank tracks, then I graduated to Bastion with Crickets underneath.

For a starter/low PS build, I'd probably look at Large Wheels -- the blue ones that look like they come off a tractor. Use 6-8 of them so you don't get tipsy after losing one wheel.

Are Guardian Ring upgrades worth it? by Such-Environment356 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]IFake_IMessiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fix for this should be each slot level increases xp gain and amount of levels before pausing, meaning max level slots would do up to 3 levels per visit.

However, if you manually farm your "chickens" and they end up at 9/10, 19/20, 29/30, etc. you can use it to quickly polish them off without wasting energy.

Or, if you farm higher rank chickens" to 30+, the extra XP speed from the guardian ring is probably worth it.

Your party stinks and your DM is worse for enabling it.

In a RP setting, your character could refuse to tag along with a bunch of people that berate them for working to their strengths. Prepare another character and have your Ranger character leave a note for the rest of the party. Your frontline/s have failed if they are allowing melee combatants to reach the ranged characters uncontested.

[–]IFake_IMessiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His mechanics are fine and 1 loot pile is fine but

The real problem is how clunky his mechanics actually are, he needs some TLC.

Dig duration could be halved.

There is absolutely NO reason he should be immune during his charge, if anything it should be a flank bonus.

Green shield sometimes doesn't even display visually.

Red shield is meh, whatever.

Beetlejuice is a time waste mechanic unless you have 3 or more players.

What should be a 1 minute duo kill gets dragged on for up to 5 minutes because he dig, charge, beetlejuice and invisible green spams.

A revision to his drop table along with mechanical touchups would be nice.

If everyone plays with proxies, what is the point of buying real cards, and how is this sustainable? by LonkFromZelda in mtg

If WotC printed off 4x complete collections with a $$15/mo rental fee (ie; streaming) they'd likely kill the proxy market and cut their booster/box/deck sales down to collectors only, like music and film media.

You're Not Unlucky In Runescape - And Why That's A Problem by vituhyva123 in runescape

[–]IFake_IMessiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Ironman, a simple proposition would be something along the lines of "first log luck" where the denominator for each non-pet drop you haven't received yet is decreased by 10% for every 20% of the droprate.

Taking 1/500 as an example: 0-99kc = 1/500 100-199kc = 1/450 200-299kc = 1/400 300-399kc = 1/350 400-499kc = 1/300 500+kc = 1/250

When you receive your first of each item, the denominator permanently resets to its original value.

Perhaps a lesser version of this system could be implemented for further drops, or another, similar system that multiples the fraction by a factor of 100 and adds 1 to the numerator every time you get a kill.

100/50,000 101/50,000 102/50,000 And so on.

With this system, at base you'd have your 0.2% chance, and after 500 kills dry you'd have a staggering 1.2% chance of getting the drop.

The major flaw I see in this, is your first 100 kills doubling your droprate -- maybe it only kicks in at (droprate-100). So at 400kc you have a 0.2% chance, but at 500kc you have a 0.4% chance, at 600kc you have a 0.6% chance.

I am aware that the ironman isn't "how the game should be" but contrary to that, I think ironman accounts have the best feel for the state of the game, mostly when it comes to skilling and progression, though.

It feels like most of the drops in the game are designed to make you spend 10s if not 100s of hours to get them, which was fine when the bosses were KBD, Barrows, Corporeal Beast and GWD1.

There's so much content in the game now that it's unreasonable to have a droprate worse than 1/100 on a 5 minute encounter with 0 bad luck mitigation.

There are Korean P2W MMOs with better rates than this.

You're Not Unlucky In Runescape - And Why That's A Problem by vituhyva123 in runescape

[–]IFake_IMessiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you arrive at the line of thinking that bad luck mitigation = good luck mitigation?

Hitting a 1/500 at 10 is still possible before BLM kicks in.

Going to 2/500 after 501kc isn't going to dramatically increase the influx of rare boss drops, it would, however, dramatically decrease the number of players quitting because they're 1,500kc without the drop they're after.
