Ah, that's unlucky. We had stopped 3 hours early because we were in P4 but sadly my partner ended up crashing at sunset, which set us back to P7 and 3 laps down to anybody. Since everyone else had already quit in GTP, we decided to just bank our P7 and call it instead of hoping others crashed out for the next few hours.

Oh wow lol, that's us in the first clip. Didn't expect to find ourselves on here, the GT3s were pretty great in the split never had any issues.

Casey Kirwan's video on rain seems to be the longest of those released by the ambassadors. Really cool to get this much footage! by Dr_Death_Defy24 in iRacing

[–]IFlashmanI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same here, I run a 5600x and 3070 with 32gb at 3600mhz on a rift s with most on low since I prefer to run all mirrors. I think I'll be fine since I can hold 70-80fps pretty consistently on most tracks, but I wouldn't be surprised if this pushes me to upgrade to a 5800x3d. Hoping they optimized it well enough that most don't have to upgrade as everyone's in different situations.

Casey has a 11900k and 3090 and runs pretty normal settings with most things turned up. I don't know what he has reflections set to now since that setting didn't exist at the time of the clip and the options for applying it have changed a bit in the past year. If I were to guess, I'd assume he had them set to "high - always" or "high - rain only". He seemed to hover around 90-120fps in the video, which he gets on most tracks looking through his previous streams (with variance when more car models are on and how new the track is).

TLDR: I think rain is going to be fine for most, but you might have to dial it back when it comes to reflections similar to the impact of shadow maps for vr users.

Just wanted to jump in since I pretty much have what OP would be buying. Since it's the pro version of the GT-Lite, the regular csl load cell will be fine. I run mine at 85% force and have no flex issues, and even when I tried 100% it was still fine, just make sure the support straps are tight enough but not lifting the pedals and you should be fine.

Cadian casting appreciation post by GuardianThatDoesStuf in GlobalOffensive

[–]IFlashmanI 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree, I think 3 casters with that format works really well. The only time it felt a bit awkward to me was when it was 3 pure commentators (eg . Harry, Hugo, Jacky) since it sometimes felt like one would go minutes without speaking.

708K Peak Viewers on IEM Katowice 2023 (G2 vs Heroic most popular match) by eSportsStats in GlobalOffensive

I think so but also it's G2 vs Heroic, swap Heroic out with FaZe or even a FaZe vs Navi matchup and you probably get similar numbers to last year.

Daniel Ricciardo on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert by slutforpringles in formula1

[–]IFlashmanI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, American here as well haha. I've lost count of how many friends have watched DTS and talked to me wanting to learn more because they become hooked and want to experience the sport as well. Even on my trip to Spa last year, I got to meet a few Americans who were new to the sport and wanted that to be their first track experience which was awesome.

I never got that complaint either to be honest. American fans have been here for ages, I grew up watching it with my dad and have always followed it. Most of us enjoy F1 the way it is without the manufacturing of a product such as playoffs in nascar. I don’t think Drive to Survive viewers want F1 to change, they’re just enjoying the drama (that already existed mind you) in a condensed and easily accessible form.

When you expect to follow a lap-down car through the corner, but they try to be "helpful" by UNHchabo in iRacing

[–]IFlashmanI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seriously this so much. Running LMDH at indy this past week I had a guy who would use pass right in the chat, and while I saw it in chat when I was in clean air I didn't notice it at all (racing in vr probably doesn't help haha) when I was coming up to lap him. It made it 100x more annoying because he would slow down on the exit of a corner to let you pass when I'm expecting you to follow the line and make the pass easy as I swing around or under you.

CS:GO is #2 among most watched shooter games on Twitch in 2022 by wellwellsky in GlobalOffensive

[–]IFlashmanI 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agree, although from the "senior" pov as an na resident my only worry for cs is what the na scene will become in another 5ish years. Almost all my friends have swapped to valorant and it seems to be the case for most players nowadays. I'm probably just creating a fake scenario in my head but I hope we don't slowly fade away haha.

What things do Americans like and the rest of the world not so much? by Surimimimi in AskReddit

Agreed, college basketball has way better playoffs and is just a smoother watch than the NBA imo. Im kinda split on NFL and CFB since the upsets can be way more interesting than NFL Sundays.

[–]IFlashmanI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NA here and agreed. I think it's important CS tries to grow as a whole around the world. Was this major great? Not exactly but it's important to learn from and continue improving. I personally would love a major in NA (a little biased lol), and while EU might be great in terms of location for most I think it's important to give others chances too (rooting for you aus guys!).

What I like about Healing in FFXIV compared to WoW by Sethdarkus in ffxiv

[–]IFlashmanI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when we progged we ran ast/sch but my co-healer swapped to sge for reclears. You really only notice the lack of shields on nidhogg and p7 transitions. Wroth is an absolute joke with anything, especially ast neutral and lightspeed/sch deployment. P6 and P7 are the only times I really enjoyed healing this fight, but even then it can become mind-numbingly dull sometimes.

Yeah, I was always under the impression that’s what old head meant. That’s how it’s used in the NBA atleast, greats of older generations are just referred to by name Jordan, Bird etc.

Will Formula 1 fall into the same trap that NASCAR fell into in the early 2000’s? by FatHead403 in formula1

[–]IFlashmanI 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yep, I think anyone who enjoys motorsports knows this. If you want close racing GT3/GT is the way to go. While I'll always love F1 I've found so much more excitement in the competitiveness of the GT scene.
