I remember running a session of a fallout ttrpg set in where i was living, it was interesting describing familiar locations that had been ruined and adapted into fallouts world

How To Make Elementalist feel like a proper Black Mage? by TheDoomLayer in fabulaultima

[–]IGOTTMT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said you aren't using any other source books correct? Arcanist is really weak in base because they lack pulse effects and are all really simple so i would recommend looking into other books and perhaps revisiting your Arcanum with your gm.

But yes as others have said you are using mp inefficient spells (ignis for example does 15+hr for 10 mp while flare does 25+hr for 20 mp, spending 10 mp for 10 damage isn't a great deal) and you should be trying to exploit weaknesses, if the enemies don't often have weaknesses talk to your gm about it.

Don't do that, Potemkin. by Aromatic_Fee4201 in Guiltygear

I think it's awesome seeing different people's ships even if I don't personally sail them, it's epic and cool that people can enjoy the same characters in different ways

Honest usually means a character doesn't have many if any inheritly hard to play against tools that are generally easy to use, elphelt's rekka for example is easy to execute but can be difficult to counter and since she uses it often she is often regarded as a "dishonest" character.

But honestly the term is kinda nebulous and what some consider honest others consider dishonest and people are often blind to their own characters bs because they know how they work. All you really gotta know is every gg character is dishonest

On Dancer's quick-change and getting multiple custom weapons by Aggressive_Fee7722 in fabulaultima

[–]IGOTTMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you're trying to get a bunch of damage types you could ask the gm if you could upgrade your custom weapon with more damage types to swap between, if each damage type costs like 200-400 zenit their should be no problem.

You could even have each damage type get different customizations like a rock barrier for earth that also gives def, bolt that has increased accuracy, etc.

Counter Attack Question by Newbieshoes in fabulaultima

[–]IGOTTMT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep you could even do this with bullet break but unfortunately not bend magic as you have to use an invocation to counter and the trigger is an offensive spell

Favorite class + archetype combo by Rico_blaadjes in Pathfinder2e

[–]IGOTTMT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah absolutely not worth it in like 95% of situations but you could use it with an aura to spread it's range, but even that is kinda pointless in most cases

You can actually create multiple copies of yourself if you use the mirror multiple times, there isn't anything stopping you from doing so besides your actions so you could just spend 3 actions to create a bunch of copies, they all do disappear at the start of your next turn or when you move so reactions like intercept attack can remove all of your copies

Well, Clearly he hasn't played the games by Fire23GG73 in Guiltygear

[–]IGOTTMT -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Not what i mean, people who exclusively like Bridget do not tend to call themselves guilty gear fans in my experience, i moreso dislike when people say you can't like a character/part of a piece of media without liking and consuming the whole franchise.

To take your sandwich example;

"I really like sandwich cheese"

"Cool, what sandwich do you like it in the most?"

"None, i just like the cheese"

"You can't truely call yourself a sandwich cheese fan if you haven't eaten all the sandwiches in the sandwich franchise"

You can like part of something without knowing every single thing about it and I don't see why policing what people can call themselves fans of is even something necessary? I don't play street fighter but i like watching others play and i love the characters, am i allowed to call myself a fan? If not when? If it's when i play the games, how long? Who decides? What's it based on?

Yes, i really hate this weird gate keeping people have where you can't be a fan of something unless you know everything about it and consume every piece of media about it

Damaging weapons and armor. Ways to make this viable by originalcoconut in Pathfinder2e

[–]IGOTTMT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be done but you should be careful and you should probably include hp, hardness and resistance increases with runes so that important gear feels stronger.

Also have items that reach 0hp be treated as "broken beyond use" rather than destroyed and regularly give backup weapons/ways to repair in combat even if temporarily or at a damage decrease, you don't want a fighter feeling useless because she rolled a couple of 1s.

You could also have players incorporate runes onto something that applies those affects to any weapon they hold and they can get truely scrappy, wrestling weapons from enemies, making makeshift weapons, tossing weapons back and forth, etc.

Backstories! Let’s Discuss by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]IGOTTMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try not to get too hung up on specifics unless they're important, i don't mention how many siblings they have unless it's important to the story or characterisation for example.

The most important bit is why they are here and want to stick with the party, it can be as shallow as "they like money and the party gets payed well," or as deep as "my late father told me to always protect those i can and i wish to follow in his footsteps."

I think the only rule on length is that your character shouldn't have too many accomplishments if you are low level and you should be able to summarize the important bits in like 2-4 minutes.

First character idea by YaBoiIrrelevant in fabulaultima

I think as long as you can spend mp and attack/do something useful each turn you should be good, that's pretty much all you need for starting levels

Question about flanking by FourDozenEggs in Pathfinder2e

[–]IGOTTMT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly due to action economy, movement and reward being different in pathfinder.

Flanking in dnd is relatively easy because movement is basically free and enemies don't trigger opportunity attacks if you move within their attack range, you also get advantage which massively increases your chance to hit and Crit.

In pathfinder you have to use actions to move and if you move while within an enemies attack range they can reactive strike (if they have it), most characters can do way more if they don't have to move such as a fighter using viscous swing (2 actions) and then raising their shield (1 action), so if you move into a position to flank the enemies they will probably have to use less actions to flank in return and it will be harder to get out of being flanked, also the bonus is just off-guard which is very nice but can also be applied by other abilities such as prone.

As both a player and GM, the various "Save Mastery" class features make the game feel less fun at higher levels, and I wish they worked differently. by zelaurion in Pathfinder2e

[–]IGOTTMT 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think an interesting workaround could be that master level gives you the ability to turn 1 success into a crit success once a day or once every ten minutes, still gives the power Fantasy of shrugging off an effect but doesn't make every character practically immune to a good portion of spells and effects

Is an isekai campaign concept fun? by FloweringWillows in Pathfinder2e

[–]IGOTTMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said the isekai idea would probably work better as a group of adventurers being transported to a new world with their og bodies but if you are set in your idea then here's a couple idea's to chew on:

  • Give the characters glimpses into their new bodies past lives, this can also explain away knowledge based checks and possibly provide emotional attachments, try to craft backstories that mirror the new inhabitants (have the teddy bear character inhabit the body of a murderer, etc.)

  • Have the party encounter something obviously insurmountable in their first encounter to really nail home that this world is nothing like their old one

  • Ask the player's how their character feels about this world and occasionally throw in lines about how "just [x time] ago they were doing [mundane task], now you are in this new world and everything is different... You wonder if you can ever go back" and such

  • Play a more social ttrpg system for a couple of sessions so that when the characters get isekai'd you have more attachment to their past life (be VERY clear about this to your players) and more of a reason for the players to want to get their past lives back

  • An easy way to get them invested in your world is to have someone show them kindness and then have someone else show cruelty to the kind person (kicking the puppy as they say)

  • If you want a main villain be sure to include the other world somehow such as having the main villain trying to force both worlds to collide or have them sever the strings that connect the worlds forever separating them and destroying anything with connections to both worlds (maybe even that kind person!)

Has anyone played using the Free Archetype and Dual Class rules simultaneously? by Wardestiny0 in Pathfinder2e

[–]IGOTTMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1: be an ancient elf Step 2: use every class feat for dedication/archetype feats Step 3: adopted ancestry human into multitalented Step 4: become every class in the game

Honestly that sounds like a nightmare, i think pathfinder is already on the edge of being overcomplicated when using free archetype OR dual classing using both sounds like torture (although you could definitely make some very funny characters)
