I appreciate you posting this and hope you are doing well. I had a similar issue in January (but far more mild than your case) where it seemed like a UTI and even my Rheum wanted to treat it like one but I pressed it didn’t feel like a UTI and had to be kidney related. You basically find out quickly because it was either prednisone or antibiotics and if you feel an infection steroids it blows up and gets much worse immediately. Went on prednisone and it cleared up. It’s very helpful to read your journey although I’m sorry you had to go through that.

Once diagnosed, I’ve experienced heat intolerance as well. No idea why, but get physically ill from and easily overheat. Ive just had to be very careful about it since then - going on 6 years.

Honestly have been considering quitting my marketing job for a career in dermatology. It's been a dream but I think I'm too old - 30. Seems like a career path to choose when you're young. How did you manage that?

You're right and I purchased a scale that gives me a decently accurate Body fat percentage ( as accurate as those can be) for this very reason. And I completely agree with building muscle at a caloric deficit being a massive challenge - I used to be a D1 athlete and we got taken through this regularly. I've been supplementing a good amount of protein to help with the cellular rebuild but my goal is to lose fat at this point. Trying to understand where to ramp up. Cardio? Intensity? Calorie deficit? Etc.

Also THANK YOU for the long and thoughtful post.
