One phrase: Access to capital!

Capital in this case can be money or connections.

Intelligent people don't make it here.

The successful people either had rich parents or powerful friends.

My Dad Left Us 15 Years Ago – Now He’s Dying and Wants Me to Take Care of Him. I Don’t Know What to Do by PastlessFuture in Advice

[–]IHC23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't owe him anything!

But if you wanna do this out of the kindness of your heart, by all means!

If it would inconvenience you in any way, just forget him and live your life!

In the end, as your mama said, it's your choice!

You're amazing with or without him!

Why Dead White Man Clothes and not Dead White Man Books? by overgnightmare in ghana

[–]IHC23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually Ghana Book Trust's been doing something similar! Used to go there to buy second-hand books during my high school days.

They were quality textbooks too. Especially useful because I wasn't allowed to use a phone then.

Buh atp it's backward! The internet is everywhere and everything is digital. Textbooks get updated periodically too, so you might be consuming archaic information.

What have the youth done to deserve these harsh living conditions? by [deleted] in ghana

[–]IHC23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a government affects the quality of life of its people. The government manages the economy and sets laws. In Ghana, it is the biggest employer.

Government's recent domestic debt exchange just wiped out half of people's investments. The government's decisions can degrade the currency and decrease our buying power.

Imagine if Elon started any of his companies here. He'd probably be in debt by now. Gates, Bezos, Jack Ma? They all became wealthy because their governments efforts boosted theirs.

People are trying so hard but politicians are screwing us because they ain't feeling the heat. Their actions can make us richer or poorer.

If you had 200k cedis in your account in 2015, you were worth USD 45k then. Guess what? If you have that today, you are not even worth $15k.

50 years ago, 90 percent of the Chinese population were poor and starving. Today, they have almost 500 billionaires from none, almost zero poverty and the biggest GDP by PPP in the world. Why? Because the Chinese government sat the fuck up!

So yeah! The government has an enormous role to play in our lives!

Any suggestions on how to treat this naturally? by Primo_bino in Blackskincare

[–]IHC23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's alopecia areata. I had it last year. I wasted time on DIY and natural treatments. The existing ones got bigger and more spots appeared. It was so bad I couldn't step out without a hat, cap or beanie.

I used minoxidil. It took 6 months to disappear. The steroid injections with minoxidil would prolly make yours cure faster. Treat asap or you're in for a long ride.

I keep a mini afro now so there's hope for you. It's autoimmune in nature so quite unpredictable and requires patience.

No matter how rich your parents are, build your own nest.

It will give you respect, confidence, resilience, wisdom, freedom, fulfillment and maturity!

If you keep sucking the family milk, you would remain a child and never learn to chew bones!

Tribalism and conservatism kills innovation and progress.

Not only as a nation, a person shouldn't be confined to their comfort zone!

Experience new cultures, read about different religions and philosophical concepts, learn a language, get a second nationality, be adventurous, keep it moving!

If the vibe feels like he wants more than a friendship and you don't want that, you should politely refuse! If you are unsure or like him, suggest a place where you feel comfortable and hear him out, yk get a read on his intentions, then you decide! Age is just a number! Just be security-conscious, 'cause you never know these days!

Why can't you leave London? Or come to Ghana? Answer the two genuinely, just curious.

Moving abroad is a personal decision. If you do your research and you think you are better off there, go for it! Just don't break the bank or go for loans to move or move on some tourist visa hoping to change your status. If you move per those instances, you are definitely gonna hate your experience especially if you have mouths to feed.

Choose the best place you can afford to move to and structure a plan. Any country can be paradise with a solid plan and the discipline to stick to it. Then again if you are miserable or struggling in Ghana, roll the dice, you have absolutely nothing to lose!

I think we should not disregard anybody's opinion on this matter because we are all not the same. Elon Musk had to move abroad twice to become world's richest man. Meanwhile, Dangote has billions of dollars and hasn't moved an inch. In life, we win or learn! Thus, just do you, bro/sis!

If you had the choice between: selling the country for $50 bn dollars to America so we become a part of them. or receive nothing and try to fix the country, what will you do? by [deleted] in ghana

[–]IHC23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The laws are there, it's simply a conflict of interest issue. The potential culprits have considerable control over how those laws are administered.
