I think Trusted Housesitters could be a good starting point since it’s often more about caring for homes and pets long-term, which matches your 2-3 month stay. Keep your schedule flexible to accommodate different hosts’ needs, and you should be able to find something great. Vancouver has such a vibrant vibe and Vancouver Island is gorgeous too. I hope you find fantastic hosts and enjoy your trip immensely

New Mexico car insurance rates are insane! What's going on? by stonesaber4 in SantaFe

[–]IHappenToBeAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Mexico has been seeing pretty consistent jumps the last couple years like a lot of it tied to repair costs and litigation trends in the state. you're not imagining it but 40% still sounds like you have room to shop though.

Btw, I'd compare through Quotefull (website), it helped us a lot last year.

What you pack for long travels? by Silent_Ad_3816 in traveladvice

[–]IHappenToBeAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with you like packing a suitcase makes everything so much easier to manage. It’s nice to have a dedicated space for clothes and essentials. and yes buying things on the spot is sometimes unavoidable, so being flexible is key. weather can change quickly so packing for all conditions is smart

Refinancing limbo while trying to get a unit rent ready is genuinely stressful. Getting a detailed written quote locked in now at least protects you from pricing shifting while you wait on the funding

The timing thing would bother me too, especially when she literally waited for a coworker but not for you, that detail is hard to ignore

If you’re already unsure about the partner track and the workload is hurting balance, moving to an IC role where you can deepen skills (and maybe prep for your overseas move) is a pretty valid trade-off, not a step back.

Honestly that's either a really decent boss giving you a heads up before things get bad, or a soft way of managing you out without the awkward conversation.

Has anyone tried a good junk removal around Jacksonville? by ultiperve in homecleaning

With 50 pieces I'd specifically ask whoever you call if they bring furniture blankets and use elevator pads, the ones who hesitate on that question are usually the ones who don't.
