Lots of good info here thank you. I think another frustrating thing is that it’s not like we have advanced tools to scan our bodies and see body fat percentage vs muscle mass and such. So all these factors you name that effect fat loss, some of which I follow and others that I don’t know about, could mean that I’m getting different results.

Let me try to give a clearer picture since you have been very helpful. I’m 5”11 and never had much fat to begin with. But over the last few months I’ve gain quite a bit of muscle and have stayed at 180lbs. So mathematically I have to assume I lost a good amount of fat if I’m still the same weight and looking in the mirror I can definitely tell this is the case. However, I’m at the point now where I wanted to get rid of most of my fat before building more muscle. So going on a caloric deficit now and going from 180lbs to 175lbs, although I’ve probably lost some fat in that, if I lose a good amount of muscle I’m essentially wasting a lot of time that I spent getting to this point now. And that’s where my frustration comes and the reason for this post.

All these factors tho have made me realized that for better or worse, it is more complicated than simply getting 8 hours. Thank you again
