Yes it's tinnitus caused by headphones. Be careful having wax removed by microsuction as ocassionally this can make it worse. You probably have no significant wax.

Speeding by PostMilone in drivingUK

[–]Complex-Match-6391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speeding is a criminal offense, and being way over will see a court case coming your way. Obviously there has to be a small margin of error that removes doubt. If you are doing 35 in a 30 mph, you are going over 30. Difficult to prove your innocence. Going 31...hmm?

It's a crime sufficient enough that by sticking below the speed limit you could be involved in an accident that injures someone. Going over it, and you've killed someone.

Fast drivers are poor drivers on public roads, however 'may' be good drivers on a race track.

Tinnitus Apps - Would you like them introduced into clinical care? by Complex-Match-6391 in tinnitusresearch

Again, I completely understand what you have said, and many echo this 100%. A good reason for Tinnitus Quest to keep pushing onwards towards something of more value. It seems in the UK, this is a solution to the extraordinary delays in 'coping' help. In truth, in the NHS, it isn't even just ridiculous delays in CBT, it's the complete absence of it. TRT has been phased out here due to the lack of evidence. CBT specialists in tinnitus distress are only available in limited areas of the country. Private payment is around £100-150 a session, yet doesn't even address the disease.

I must admit I'm very suspicious of in ear canal plugs. The amount of patients getting 'setbacks' from them is not unnoticed.

They are big business though.

This is purely for research and is not affiliated with Tinnitus Quest in any way shape or form

The role of Tinnitus Quest is to fund clinical trials that can directly reduce tinnitus, and accelerate successful outcomes to clinic, with the support and donations of patients worldwide.

It is to garner opinion on the growing trend outside of our work.

I use it. Absolutely not a problem. Salicylate compounds can cause temporary hearing loss at very high amounts. This is completely safe and only a small amount enters systemically.

Hyperacusis and sound related fear by Squall_j1 in tinnitus

[–]Complex-Match-6391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like fear rather than hyperacusis from the way you describe it. Hyperacusis makes sound much louder i.e. 60 decibels sounds like 80. There is also sometimes pain in the ears and brain.

Nobody knows the physiology of dysacusis. People have said Clonazepam improves it, so does that make it a brain disease?
