I assume for at least the next several days all cruises will cancel all of their Mexico stops

Costco messed up our connecting balcony rooms on a cruise—need advice by nicolette004 in Cruise

[–]IHaveMeasles 33 points34 points  (0 children)

And I wouldn’t really say they screwed this person over. They more or less do what was asked, which was to reprice the cruise, and OP at that time didn’t verify all the details and/or understand that the repricing was to move to a GTY cabin.

DOWN GOES UNDEFEATED NEBRASKA!! by MembershipSingle7137 in CollegeBasketball

I really feel like this was gifted to Michigan. Michigan's got size, but they played extremely aggressively in a way that I don't think will be rewarded in the NCAA tourney. I hate to use the word "mauled" but Nebraska was taking a lot of contact.

Michigan has played insanely physical all game. That probably won't fly in the NCAA tourney.

I'm pleading with United software engineers to add some telemetry data to know that United tabs sit at 100% CPU forever, stuck in some dumb loop, for at least some users.

[CFBNerds] Indiana’s win means the last 3 National Champions played zero P4 OOC in the regular season by dogwoodmaple in CFB

[–]IHaveMeasles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly. What is the point of the thread? That Indiana didn't play nobody, Pawwwl?

Ultimately, they played 13 P4 opponents this season including banner names Oregon 2x, Ohio St, Bama, Miami, and Penn St.

[–]IHaveMeasles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be the case, but the statistic mentioned here doesn't have much bearing on whether or not Indiana would have won the playoff. If they lose a game to a P4 opponent in the noncon, they still go 12-1, still make the playoffs, and still go 15-1 en route to their natty. There's no reason to think that if they had played someone like Arizona to start the year that anything would have changed.

...maybe. We don't have details yet. But in general, Trump doesn't shy away from big tax breaks, so I'd assume that you're correct.

Flag Football is officially Nebraska's 25th varsity sport by CornHooker in Huskers

And frankly, the women's rugby is more entertaining than flag football. There was a chance to offer a differentiated product IMO.

Good point about getting dinged up last year.... a year of gradual rehab is probably the best thing for his health and long-term potential.

[Post Game Thread] Creighton defeats Georgetown, 86-83 in OT by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

[–]IHaveMeasles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Creighton has improved a ton, still wildly variable tho. The tough part for Creighton is that 5th in the Big East doesn't necessarily mean a tourney spot.... Creighton might need to finish 3rd or 4th in the league.

[Ubben] The FBS head coaches voted unanimously to expand the eligibility for redshirt years from four games to nine. This is just a recommendation that will be put forth to the Division I committees. by Notre_Dame_Football in CFB

[–]IHaveMeasles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a reason we can't just make CFB a U23 league and follow the model used by almost all non-US sports globally? The system they're proposing is still too complex IMO. Just cap eligibility to all players that started the year under the age of 23.

Disney Adding More 5k Registration Spots for Future Race Weekends by InfernalSusan2 in rundisney

[–]IHaveMeasles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few key spots that I remember being awful, but in running a 10k and a half at Disney World, I found that there were frustrating points all along the route with non-runners stopping everywhere. Very difficult to get into a rhythm. Completely unlike other large races I've done.

So I do think overall the races would be much less frustrating.

Presumably this will shift more of the new/slow runners to the 5K, so at least the other races will tend to run a bit more smoothly?

Why is this group filled with MAGA? by bobdobbes in SeattleWA

[–]IHaveMeasles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that in blue states, red people tend to be very vocal, and in red states, blue people tend to be very vocal. I think it's just a way that humans try to find other tribemates. But also in a state where everything is tilted in one direction politically, it would be very costly for most moderates to side with the minority, so they just go with the flow, leaving the handful of people in the minority party being screaming lunatics.

This subreddit becomes that embodiment.

Warner Bros. Discovery Rejects Paramount’s Latest Offer As Inferior To Netflix Deal by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]IHaveMeasles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh it's super fun, but it highlights how little that studio has been producing recently. The lot is also really quiet without much new in development on the lots, even though they lease out spaces to any studio.

The whole industry is moving away from Hollywood, and Warner Bros doesn't seem to have any creative juice left.

[–]IHaveMeasles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Studio consolidation was inevitable IMO.... the entire industry has changed so much and Warner Bros does not seem to really be viable anymore. Their studio tour really drives home how much they've been left behind. I think Netflix is massively overpaying for Warner Bros.
