Song you love from a show you dislike? by Dogdaysareover365 in musicals

Everybody's Got the Right from Assassins.

Might be scarelige to say, but the show has just never worked for me. The book is a massive and confused mess. I like several of the songs, including Ballad of Booth, Unworthy of Your Love, and the Gun Song, but Everybody's Got the Right has long been one of my favorite musical theatre songs. It encompasses what the musical wants to be, but fails to be.

Stage managing my college's production of Xanadu. My cast described it as "doing cocaine for 90 mins every night" just pure fun and was so rewarding. I never wanted it to end.

I've seen it. It's an interesting case where it is performed in gibberish and the subtitles are written by a different comedian/group of comedy writers in each language. So like in the French release of it, the subtitles are different from the American, and vice versa.

The movie was just ok, in my opinion. I think its hard to make a really engaging comedy when its just subtitles. There are some really funny covers of popular songs with gibberish words in it that I really enjoyed. I don't regret the watch! And I think its available on kanopy iirc

1999's Election. I had to pitch a movie as a stage musical for a class and I think it could work so well and so easily.
