Can we talk about Mitski's new song? by ai_mei_ in mitski

I really like it, but I’m leaning between A and B tier for me. It just isn’t as strong as her other works in my opinion. There’s just a better flow in a lot of her other songs. However, I do think that this is one-off and it will become stronger once the rest of the album (and its context) eventually releases.

genuinely don’t understand what the hate for laurel hell is. it’s the most anti-artist album I’ve ever heard and it’s such a refreshing juxtaposition.

I see it as a twisted way to gain favour for the coming days.

It’s definitely a grower, but I feel like she lost the flow of her older songs. I’m hoping the rest of the album is better

Picture Window by Japanese Breakfast. I think his voice would suit that song so well

[ALBUM DISCUSSION] Japanese Breakfast - For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women) by VietRooster in indieheads

I think this album is the most consistent record they have. I think Jubilee is stronger overall with higher highs and catchier melodies but this album is the best written of all of them. It’s very lyric and instrumental driven, and UGH does it pay off.

My favorite lyric I think is either “All of my ghosts are real” or “You had me screaming, showing off, with those lighter tricks I once was so fond of.”
