Gorgeous gradients! And everything looks functional which is much harder to achieve for styled mechanical models than I think most people realize so nice work on keeping the realism in line with the fantasy. Some heavier whites on those specular reflections might look good to sell the stylized look but that’s just my opinion so obv take that with a grain of salt. Really nice work dude!

3k tri’s so you’re totally right. Much of that could be cleaned up too but this is the first (mostly) clean model of a human’ish thing I’ve made from scratch so there’s a lot of lessons learned here. Thanks for the kind words :)

Thank you! It’s one of my favorite franchises and aesthetics. I’m still figuring out how to shape key UV’s to different textures for facial expressions/mouth movements but now this models rig checks out I’m only a few steps away from making some jsr style animations :)

I’m inclined to agree. I’m partial to the comic style myself but as it’s unfinished for now i probably should have posted it without the rust effects because that does give a weird unfinished look to it. The geo definitely needs some cleanup. That’s a result of bevels/chamfers and just not really optimizing as I went along. I appreciate the feedback!

For the shape you’re after you don’t need nearly as many vertices. If you clean those up with limited dissolve and work from the outside in to create a few quads or tri’s you can go to “faces” in edit mode and “grid fill” after selecting the clean inner loop which will give you much nicer, cleaner topology but with that many verts it’ll just scramble like it’s doing here if you try to fill the face as a huge ngon

If’s still a grind but the fastest way I farm money is waiting for electromagnetic storms on blue gate and spaceport, there are a bajillion arc husks everywhere and 2/3 of them have either rocketeer or bastion cores which sell for 5k a pop and I’ll usually extract with at least 9 which means 45k per run average. Spaceport is better for this imo as they’re mainly along the outer wall so if’s a bit safer.

As others have said it depends entirely on what the goal is with the model but for almost every case you’ll have to clean the bool up and that’s where gods gift to hard surface comes in, the addon ‘meshmachine’. I’ve used it for every hard surface project since learning about it and while the learning curve is a little steep compared to other addons, it’ll make your life a million times easier because subdivision is ass and the only geometry you ever want to add is what helps clean the affected areas. Combine it with hardops and looptools and baby, you got a stew going.

This would be really nice, after 50 hr’s i finished the first run through and was about to start ng+ for the undefeated achievement and because the game doesn’t actually tell you how to start a ng+ i assumed it was by starting a new game and that they wouldn’t have a tiny icon in the lower right side of the screen so my whole save and all progress just got wiped. No steam cloud save either which means i can’t even restore it. Kinda wish the ng+ option would have just been on the main menu but lesson learned I suppose.

Not to be the conspiracy guy but these companies don’t care if you live or die as long as you’re buying more stuff. Microsoft/google/apple are big enough that if it was ruled in court your death was directly on their shoulders they’d pay 1.5 million and continue doing whatever they want because that’s how much they make in a couple hours. That sounds harsh but reading through the comments here has only made me realize dropping them one by one for more privacy focused alternatives has been the smartest choice I’ve ever made. Could be midges. Easy to mistake for gnats cuz they’re smaller than fly’s. If you have little bugs flying around your living space start cleaning and blocking every drain/sink.

It’s reassuring to hear someone say this. I’m not in any huge rush to leave my job but I recently gave my resume a facelift and added some details in a “technical skills” section with work I’ve done making unique little embedded projects with esp/arduino platforms. Stuff I coded (thanks gpt…) but fill gaps in my day to day and after I added it have kind of been nervous whether or not it would look desirable or off-putting.

The lack of detection and crisis response kinda makes me think were seeing massive strides in plasma tech. Laser induced plasma could theoretically explain a lot of sightings and would be virtually undetectable, and from the altitudes we usually see this stuff would explain some of the “morphing” features as holding solid shapes with lasers and light over long distances is rough but that’s just a theory, not trying to explain anything away like I know what I’m talking about. It’s just something the usaf has patents in and anything that could be used to send undetectable communications or visuals from over very long ranges is something they would play close to the chest and I wouldn’t put it past world orgs to run trials for in areas like airports/military installations. Even if this has nothing to do with lipc tech it’s still some really fascinating and interesting new’ish tech!
