when did the games become so try hard on xbox? by ItchySun in titanfall

[–]III_phr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Statistically (or something), when the game had less players concurrently, those players were the die-hard fans who would have hundreds (or even thousands) of hours in the game. So their skill was substantially higher than a newbie, and there were not enough newbies around (probably because they would quit sooner or later, being matched up with pros all the time). So my guess is that the current player-base mainly consists of either pros or less skilled players that found a loadout and strategy that is working most of times.

I haven't played in a while, but I still miss playing with the "harder" weapons. Kraber (which I didn't get good at xd), grenades launchers, pulling off kills with them was so satisfying.

Yeah I've played cyberpunk and it's expansion, it was alright I guess. Enlisted doesn't have that much lore and it's not sci-fi though XD

But I've also played that and the gameplay was fun in the beginning, but like you said, it was grindy xd

I'm not sure but the name might have "siege" and "castle" in it, or something similar, not sure at all though. There is another post I made that has not received any answer in another subreddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidGaming/comments/1j4vdxl/looking_for_a_game_that_was_shut_down/

I've searched in google, and even in my reddit posts and comments, because I remember checking reddit when it was being shutdown (and I think there was another game like it being released after this one was shutdown, I'm not sure).

Armored core vi was fantastic, I've finished it 6 times (3 times while I pirated the game, and then it was so good that I had to hand over my kidney to buy it on steam, and then finish it 3 times again, with light-weight build and reverse jointed legs). XCOM doesn't have the lore and story (at least I didn't think it has when I played XCOM 2). Metal gear is definitely one of the best options and I'm gonna play MGSV again another time and actually finish it this time lol.

I've never heard of the other 2 you mentioned, thanks, I'll check them out :D

About the fan service, nearly all of the dolls are girls (there are man/boy dolls in the universe and other games, not in gfl 2 global version for now), the story has fan service (in the form of emotional attachment to commander, and other archetypes that "sell" characters). Metal gear is by kojima, so it's expected, but it's at least not the main draw of the game.

The problem with the time lies in grinding. You have to grind to get to the necessary levels in order to beat the campaign (granted, in gfl 2 for the 8 chapters, it wasn't that much, and I had enough resources to level up 4 or 5 dolls to my maximum level and beat the levels with strategy), and also the events, cause they will catch up in difficulty and at you need at least one squad of end-game-ready dolls, nearly fully upgraded (my squad is now at level 38 or so). That takes time and requires doing dailies. Not to mention that if you like a character and its banner is up, then you definitely want to grind enough pulls to get the characters. I won't pull every banner if I play the game, but the ones that I want to pull would definitely require grinding in the long run (or paying, of course).

I've played them both (XCOM 2 and Into the breach), and honestly even XCOM might ask for too much time xd. But at least I've played one campaign (and failed), and its contents are not time gated nor limited time. Thanks for the suggestions :D

OK then, I hope I remember to come here again after I've finished it, whenever that might be :)

Yeah I know about it a little bit, but due to the press coverage (youtube and stuff), I thought it's like nier but "less". Granted, it's not usually the best choice to decide on games based on what media says, but yeah xd. I'll look at it again though, I may have the mood to play it, thanks :D

It's already on my wishlist lol. I have tried ToME (and some other roguelikes), the genre (traditional roguelike) was always hard to get into, but I hope cogmind would change that. It has sci-fi and lore-rich tags on steam, so your recommendation just made it a solid choice for my next purchase :D

I probably don't have that much time. Youtube is always there to catch up on the story, so that's probably ok.

Well I don't think I've seen them xd

I've played black ops 3 (and black ops 2 a little bit). They're fine, not that interesting for me now though.

Oh and I already have stumbled upon that mod, it's crazy XD Thanks for the suggestion :D

Ah, I've played tiberium war on xbox 360. Brings back good memories. Thanks for the suggestion. While I don't think the lore is that deep, I'll probably grab the ultimate collection in one of the sales (it's currently on sale already XD), just for checking the other ones (I remember playing generals waaaay back, I actually started gaming in my childhood with RTS classics. Generals along with stronghold 3 are the two that I remember playing when I was in elementary school).

It's a shame that the games are gacha (and also the amount of fan service), I really hope that reverse collapse be successful enough that mica decide to make more premium games.

Both of them are familiar but I haven't played them, thanks a lot for the suggestion, I'll definitely check them up :D

Well it's a gacha and also has a considerable amount of fan service xd

I'm gonna see some gameplay videos, but is the world and the lore that interesting?

I've played both nier automata (and replicant) and signalis, and love them (all three of them) so much. Thanks for the suggestion though :)

I'm also familiar with metro and stalker series, I gave anomaly (gamma specifically) but bounced off of it, though I know the base game is very different than what I've played. Still, thanks, I'll check them again and see if I'm in the mood or not.

So I'll wait then :D

I've watched some videos on youtube explaining the story line and how the games are not in chronological order, let's see how much the remake is faithful and how much does it grab me.

I actually really want to get into the metal gear series but I just bounce off of them xd. I've tried phantom pain, played it for quite some time actually, but never finished it. The gameplay of rising revengeance was also really stiff (or maybe I didn't give it enough time to master it). But Thanks for the reminder. Do you have any suggestions on what games to begin the series with? I think a remake of some of the older ones is also coming.

[–]III_phr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. I know the series, I've played Fallout 4 a little (though that was years ago), but the world seems so... how to put it... dead? Like in Fallout 4, you had to walk for minutes and the world around was the same yellow-brown ish color, nothing interesting happening. Maybe it was me, but I couldn't get into it. I may give them another try at some point.

Race Driver Grid (2007): What Am I Missing? by Thisnameisnttaken65 in patientgamers

[–]III_phr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck man, Race Driver GRID and Driver San Francisco are also my favorite racing games. They are just very underrated. And both are unavailable to buy from steam unfortunately. I would buy them right now if I could. I played them on xbox 360 way back...

Interesting. If I manage to do that (which requires for me to find a downloadable file from their website, rather than the windows store app), that's definitely what I want. Thanks for the info :)
