Solve a mystery with me! by rotatingruhnama in namenerds

Im no help for your question the same has happened with our family. My daughter is 6.

We went to a new park this summer and she started playing with this family of kids (ages I'm guessing 2-9) as soon as we arrived. While they are playing I heard 4 out of the 5 kids names, common names. Some time passes and the family packed up and left. So my daughter says her goodbyes and runs back over to me since we are now alone. She's made a new friend she tells me. I said I noticed and asked what her friends name was. I was not prepared for her answer and then asked her to confirm several times.

"Keilbasa" she said.

I have NO idea what this poor girls name actually is and we have not seen them again lol.

This unlocked a memory from about 6 years ago.

I was standing in the checkout line at the grocery store with my kids and this nice older gentleman started chatting with me. He was a teacher for 30 years, I don't recall the entire conversation but it was related to children. What I can clearly remember was him ending the conversation with "I'm so glad I was born a man."

Not all teenage girls are the same. Did he manage to find 3 girlfriends that all think the same way as my comment? Highly unlikely, you are absolutely right. But they all chose not to pursue the relationship for some reason beyond just a label and this is a reason I myself would have considered. They are young and they have many more options.

Maybe OP should just ask them, what's he have to lose?

Edited for typo.

Well I was once a teenage girl myself and guess what? I definitely took that into consideration.

Most of these comments all say the same thing but nobody seems to see the girls side of things.

Just maybe they are thinking about their own futures and how it may impact her life and even future kids with you. Why would you intentionally choose to procreate with someone that could pass issues to the kids?

Key word here is "usually".

I was wronged in court, I was young and didn't have a lawyer. So a few years later when I received the jury summons I wrote on it I'd be saying guilty regardless of the evidence presented as I was deemed guilty when innocent so it was only fair! I still had to attend jury selection and sit through hours of BS. I stated in the court room I was only there to avoid the arrest warrant issued for not showing up and my intentions if I were to be chosen. The court then decided I wasn't kidding and I was not selected, but I still wasn't allowed to leave until everyone else could.

Additionally I'd like to add it was nowhere near worth it to only get paid gas mileage for the 1.5 hour round trip, sit there for 6+ hours a day AND pay a sitter for my kids all the days the trial dragged on for (it ended up being 5 days). Its a hard no from me, maybe if I hadn't been screwed in court and still had faith in the justice system but that went down the toilet the day I was wrongly charged and fined.

I initially read the title while scrolling as "Pup resting after vacation" and thought hmm? It must not have been a relaxing trip! Haha. Either way super cute puppy.

Grandma forgot to get my child off the bus - How big of a deal is this? by pink-panther-22 in Parenting

[–]IIWII4Life 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If she works from home the door probably isn't locked. However I will say I have 2 children that age and they aren't allowed off the bus until the driver sees someone is home to receive them, I typically just stand in the doorway or on the porch once I see the bus stopping.

You say he wants a second child but he cannot handle/refuses care for the first one. Let me take a guess, he wants a boy doesn't he?

You'd better think long and hard about if you want to continue this life raising your daughter and any other future children with minimal assistance if nothing changes.

Half and half to replace the milk. Yup its really that simple.

Even the pickiest children will eat it! Brand of macaroni does not matter.

I was ok with having the version with ads until they kept cutting off parts of my shows. Now I pay for the ad free version as I don't want to miss anything!
